Sweet.... so the colors are reversed for Rock Band?

No?

Curse Firefox in 256-color-remote-desktop-so-I-can-goodge-at-decent-framerates-from-the-office mode! That pic had me worried for a second.... the Orange and Green colors were reversed... It looks correct in Internet Explorer.

So you were confusing me by proxy?

What about some Gary Hoey? Linus & Lucy? Or am I thinking of the wrong guitarist?
Pachelbel's Canon? (heh)

I demand more Huey Lewis.

I hope you're serious, because if not, our musical similarities have reached an impasse.

Serious as cancer, Fed. I totally sang "Your Cash Ain't Nothin' but Trash" in the shower yesterday morning.

Mock me if you will, but we all know It's Hip to be Square.

I got to go back in time.

If this is it, I want another roll.

Well, the Heart of Rock n' Roll is Still Beatin'.

I want some f*cking Chuck Berry.

I have seen him perform live in concert! Same with Huey Lewis and the News, actually.

I want a new drug.

One that won't make you flip? Try the power of love.

Looks like the high notes on the Fender guitar for Rock Band don't require use of the strum-bar to play the note:

EB Games wrote:

Daniel Sussman, Peripheral Producer – "It was critical to the staff at Harmonix, many of whom are musicians in real rock bands of their own, that the Rock Band instruments have a more authentic and realistic look and feel to them than we'd seen with prior music games.

We really wanted the play experience to be as accurate an emulation of playing music as possible, and to pull this off requires peripherals that are true to the real instruments.

We've partnered with Fender and modeled the guitar controller after the Stratocaster. We're really pleased with how the peripherals are turning out. They're really gorgeous pieces of hardware."

The Fender Guitar

"We designed the Rock Band guitar peripheral to look almost exactly like the iconic Fender Stratocaster. The Rock Band guitar controller also has a toggle switch similar to the one on a real Fender Strat that allows you to manipulate sound through reverb, flange, wah, delay, etc. We also made the Rock Band guitar lefty compatible!

"We put the button colors on the sides of the neck rather than on the top of the buttons. The new solo buttons at the neck of the guitar let you "finger tap" your way through guitar solos (no strumming required!) Choose your own showboating audio FX by using the Strat's five-way FX switch. Unlock new FX as you go, including flanger, wah wah, echo & chorus."

Pre-order page here, should be available 11/20/07...

Well, that's dumb. You can finger tap anywhere on the guitar fret.

Eh, I guess it could work, but apparently they're not essential, are they?

What if I don't want to finger tap? Finger tapping means that I can't fret the note until I'm ready to play it, whereas GH-style soloing lets you get your hand in position ahead of time, just like real guitar. The only solos where the RB style would be more realistic would be the ones where the solo actually starts with finger-tapping. I dunno, this doesn't really appeal to me.

I like the idea of a second set of identically functioning buttons... hopefully that will be a software option as to whether they auto fingertap or not.

Or I'll just use that guitar for GHII and not Rock Band.... it seems like it's speculation at this point, even if that's the quote of the Harmonix Peripheral Producer...

I have wet my pants with glee after seeing the drum kit. My better half took one look at it and started crying in anticipation of another piece of video game paraphernalia cluttering our house. If she makes me choose between this and my Donky Congas, I'm gonna be upset.

The drums should really be the 80's hex shape synth drums. Round is clearly not cool enough.

I spend at least half an hour every week thinking about getting an electric drum set and how I'd get it to fit in my apartment. Will this fill the hole in my life? Will this fill my gaping hole?

Ok, that is a ridiculous looking peripheral.

And i'm in. Who's with me?

So. f*cking. Sold.

Not the mike, the drums. Singers are such drama queens, and I'm a macho bastard.

I don't want to work.
I just want to bang on those drums all day.

Been there, man. Been there bigtime. Finally moved into a house last October and dusted my drums off for the first time in, what, four years? Good times.

Jealousy.

I NEED NEW PANTS. AND THIS GAME. NOW. I CAN'T TALK ABOUT THIS WITHOUT USING CAPITAL LETTERS. LOUD NOISES.

Wow.
That is all.
Wow.

All I need is the final price, and I'm sold on the drum kit.

That footage makes me moist.

Must.

Buy.

ROCK BAND!
