My favorites are in Bold there. The Slayer song is HARD, Through Fire and Flames is insane.

If you've never heard Cities on Flame (I hadnt when I started) check out the video The lyrics are kinda goofy but oh man is that song fun to play. Number of the Beast isnt in bold because it kicks my ass

Oh hell yes!

Also, I think Sinister probably needs to change his pants now.

Yep. Back on the must buy list

The gameplay may end up annoying, but the songlist is getting a A+ from me.

Is GH3 coming out for PS2?

I honestly don't want to buy a 360 or PS3 just for it, and with rock band coming, I would like to know how the DLC is going to work or what.

I suppose the PS2 can't get the downloadable songs...

Is GH3 coming out for PS2?

Yes it is.

I'm looking forward to this game. Of course Rock Band is more exciting but as long as the core gameplay in GH3 is solid I'm in. The song list looks pretty great so far.

I suppose I'm going to be one of the handful that will get GH3 for PS2 then...

I just wish I knew if the downloadable songs will be released later as an expansion pack or what...

I know a lot of people who'll be getting the PS2 version, people that bought the PS2 just to play Guitar Hero. Guitar Hero (I and II) is still selling really well on the PS2, I suspect that GH3 will be no different.

I just wish I knew if the downloadable songs will be released later as an expansion pack or what...

If the game does sell well it wouldn't surprise me if they released some kind of DLC compilation.

No joke.

This is all a form of Ender's Game, training our young into brutal music game playing Wunderkind for the coming fight with the Machines, Battle of the Bands style.

Pff, I can do that.

Edit: What the sh*t, are they morans? The part at the beginning is performed by the KEYBOARD!

f*ck, it's exactly the sort of thing I didn't want, that they made it unlike a guitar simulation and more of a Music Game thing where you just push buttons randomly.

The beginning only has power chords...

I remember the first time I saw "Freebird" and I thought I was screwed. Then I got to it, and hey, it wasn't quite so bad.

That doesn't hold here. Jesus. Christ.

Its a bonus song dude. FreezePop was entirely synthesizers and keytars and sh*t and it was plenty of fun to play. Take a deep breath buddy, it will all be ok

Yeah but on Freezepop I had a keytar =D

Unless that video is being run at 1.25x to 1.5x speed, that's just batsh#t crazy right there.

Also, according to the ScoreHero Forum, the intro is actually performed by a Spanish Acoustic Guitar.

Quoth Neversoft:

Fine, I'll clarify for you then There actually is no keyboard in the intro ( there is but it's mostly ambience. The intro is in fact, a classical and spanish guitar sound mixed together to make this beautify of an intro. I would know, I did track the chart, and I have heard only the this part of the song split out. You will also notice this on GuitarPro tabs. That is all.

Followed by 5 pages of people going "NUH-UH! I KNOW CUZ WHILE I DIDN'T MAKE THE GAME I AM TEH LIZTENING SMARTAY!"

"Make this beautify of an intro," eh?

Not only that, but

Well, that's official enough for me!

edit: Meh, I just watched the video and they're clearly just striking power chords in the intro, and the piano dude is banging the notes.

Woah, this has wicked dueling guitar solos!
It's like, Squeedly versus Meedley over here.

Watch them live and there's no "acoustic guitar intro", what the sh*t is that.

The acoustic guitar may be sampled on the keyboards, but that explanation is bull.

I know it's a dorky nitpick but really, this is exactly the sort of thing that I didn't want - making a song hard just for the sake of making it difficult, not because it's similar to playing a guitar. Otherwise you get "Guitar Hero 80's".

Given the sort of licks the designers seem to like, I'm surprised that the Lviing End haven't shown up yet... unless I'm wrong and they have, in which case I am differently surprised.

"Carry Me Home" is on Guitar Hero 2, and it's easily one of the most difficult songs in the game.

....you mean in GH3? Cuz they're in GH2, y'know. "Carry Me Home" is in the final tier of songs.

Perhaps, just perhaps, maybe, they recorded the acoustic guitar and saw no reason to waste the time actually using it in the video, or in live performances? If I can watch The Nuge get shot at while he wails away at the guitar, which means he just might've been pantomiming during the video, and since, all studio recordings don't always translate perfectly to live performances, I'm going to give the developers the benefit of the doubt. Metallica doesn't actually break out a Maxim gun for the intro of "One", but in concert, you hear the gunshots anyway.

It's not that it's dorky, it's that people are flying completely off the handle on the tiniest, nitpickiest of evidence. The music video isn't evidence of how a song is played, or else Ludacris really does all his raps hanging upside from nothing. And everything you do in the studio doesn't always make it to the stage.

I mean, we all do realize that we're playing a glorified version of DDR, and not How To Become Hendrix With The Help Of Video Game Technology, right? In one song, I played a keytar, and at the end, I was transported into space by Aliens. This ain't alt.music.guitarlessons. Given that some songs are harder to play on expert than they actually are on the guitar (See: Frankenstein, which would also probably be all keyboard, and Strutter), and others that take some pretty obvious "liberties" with note accuracy and more (Jessica, for instance) I don't see the rage, myself.

Yeah, what Prederick said.

It's Um Jammer Lammy on a guitar controller, and it rocks.

You sonofabitch.

You have any idea HOW LONG I spent last night trying to catch up to you on "Trippin' On A Hole In A Paper Heart"?

I HAVE NERVE DAMAGE NOW.

You're right, who cares.

I'm right there on the PS2 version, I don't have to get any new guitars that way. For Rock Band though .... *drool*
