Finished Any Games Lately?

A couple of days ago I finally beat ADOM without cheating--it is, I'm convinced, the hardest game ever made. Took me two years. Finally beat it after a burst of intense procrastination brought on by a pressing need to write two papers.

Finished Guild Wars Nightfall. At least, the primary story line. There's always something more to do in GW.

I have Half-Life 2 to finish someday. :/

Just re-rented shadow of the colossus - got a couple more of the big dumb buggers to take down. Thinking of yoinking my Mom's DS to have a crack at the new Mario - just don't know if I'll have enough time to complete it before her withdrawal sets in.

Hmm, lately, as in last few weeks?

GH2, for the PS2
Grim Fandango for the PC
I 'finished' most of the single player campaigns in Sid Meier's Railroads.
Resident Evil 2 for the PS1 (just a few days ago)

Right now I'm replaying Earthbound for the SNES, that'll probably be another week or so, and if I can stop sucking at Company of Heroes that will be around the corner

On easy it felt like they wanted you to shoot everyone about 90% of the time. On hard you just about never have bullets, to the point that it is a bit silly that he is toting around a gun at all. As far as I can tell the game compensates your inability to Rambo by making the enemies less attentive. They lose the psychic ability to just know where you are. These changes very much benefit my playstyle and do not detract from it at all.

Gotta disagree with you there. When I played through Double Agent, I started on Hard, enemies still had the occasional psychic moment. Bullets are for suckers in Splinter Cell, 95% of the guys I knocked out were done up close and personal.

Fear, Tomb Raider:Legend, Newest Hitman, Prey almost done with newest Splinter Cell.

I finished GoW on casual, about half of it co-op with johnvanjim. I'm replaying it on hardcore now, and I imagine I'll eventually get to insane. I love the way this game pulls you back in to try the higher difficulty levels.

I've finished GRAW on normal. I'm stuck on the stupid helicopter+machine gun mission on the more difficult setting....can't seem to kill those freakishly accurate buggers on the roof tops before they get me. I suppose I "finished" PGR3 at the silver level and am going through on gold now. These are both examples of the way that the 360's achievements drive you to do things you might otherwise not...I love it!

That's actually pretty good for me to be able to finish a game! I've still got about 1/4 of HL2: Ep 1 to finish up, as well as the very last mission in Advance Wars: DS. I need to travel more so I can finally finish that one! Still have to finish Dead Rising...I seem to always find reason to start over. I'm probably about 2/3 through now, but GoW took my playing time over.

I just finished Gears (on casual) with Souldaddy's help on Raam. I had played through the whole game by myself on Casual, up until the Raam battle. I just couldn't beat him by myself. Now, I'm ready to play Hardcore on co-op with someone.

I finished Marvel Ultimate Alliance with my wife. That game is a ton of fun.

I think that's about it for lately.

Do tell, I still have to play that one! Why is it easier on hard? And more fun?

Awesome, that's really good to know. I don't play Splinter Cell to shoot people

I finished Marvel Ultimate Alliance with my wife. That game is a ton of fun.

That game keeps cropping up, I'll have to gauge Wife Interest(tm) and see if she's up for some superhero action.

Managed to get the super-final-real-ending in Castlevania:DoS just in time for Portrait of Ruin which came in yesterday. I'm also trudging through FF3 so the DS is getting a ton of play here lately.

Speaking of beating games, I have to say I liked that Epic included the pictures of the development team during the credits. I just thought it was a cool thing to do.

My wife loves dungeon crawlers, so MUA was a perfect fit.

I have a reputation of always having too much to play and in the end, I never finish anything. Well, this have to change! I finished Gears of Wars last weekend, played some multiplayer and I moved to NeverWinter Nights 2 again. I'm in the middle of Act 3, so I will stay with that until I finish it! I know I can! But my list is still kinda big: Dead Rising (I'm on Case 6), Gothic 3 (I was kind of waiting for the next patch), Oblivion KotN (I didn't even install that one yet hehe) and I want to pick up Rainbow Six Vegas after I'm through a couple of theses games on my list... What a great time to be gamer!

I finished GOW on insane, the 2nd time with Danjo in 4.5 hours!

Splinter Cell. I don't understand this no-guns hippy attitude, head shots in splinter cell are probably the best in any game, they feel so lethal when you use the pistol. Danjo, we need to go through the Chaos Theory co-op missions, probably the highlight of the entire series.

COD2, Dead Rising, GRAW.

All I can think of are games I haven't finished:
Saints Row
Oblivion
Test Drive Unlimited (very close in this great game)
Marvel Ultimate Alliance
R6 Vegas
PGR3
GTA: San Andreas (those damn toy missions!)

I finished a slew of games over the first half of the year, but I've been playing longer and/or non-ending games for most of the fall. I'm 50+ hours into FFXII and probably have another 50 to go. Viva Pinata I'll be able to play forever, my garden was up to over level 30 and I was steadily working my way up the global leaderboard (I almost passed position 1000) before my 360 died. Fyedaddy and I beat Gears of War in co-op. FF3 DS is in play, but I tend to play through DS games slowly at about an hour every few days. Guitar Hero 2, I've not focused on too heavily recently, but I have "Institutionalized", "Hangar 18", and "Freebird" yet to complete on Expert.

There's others on the wayside that I'll put more time into here and there.

Recently finished DQ8 (real ending) and New SMB (and Tetris DS, if you count getting to 200 lines for the first time). Just had a stretch there where I wasn't playing too much, now all my time is taken up with Zelda: TP and FFXII. I'm pretty near then end on both of them, but starting to do a lot of the optional side quests. Between the two, it's going to be very hard to go back to RPG's with a separate battle screen again (I've got Legend of the Dragoon on the back burner).

I finished Dead Rising, Saint's Row, GRAW (hard), and I'm close to R6: Vegas (realistic). I still need to tackle Oblivion: Elder Scrolls (200 hours to go?!?) and Shadow of the Colossus (can't bring myself to turn my PS2 on).

I just knocked out Marvel Ultimate ALliance, The original Halo ( I know behind the times) and the Company of Heroes single player. Now if I only the license board wasn't so addicting I could move the story along in FF XII and then start playing GoW :).

Games recently finished:
GH2 - I beat it on Expert a few weeks ago. Finally broke through Freya which had been holding me back, then made it through the rest with only a few restarts
GH1 - I had beaten every song except Cowboys from Hell on Expert. Last night I went back and beat it on the second try. (91% the first time, then my hands got sweaty as I thought "Hey, I'm gonna do this!")
Rocket Slime - I loved the characters and the humor in the game, but I found a way to exploit the AI in the tank battles so that ruined the boss fights for me.
Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga - fun game. Good recommendation from the peanut gallery here.

Currently playing, unfinished:
Gears of War - Beat act 3 on casual (just picked up on Sunday)
New Super Mario Brothers - On World 6, only played while commuting/standing in line
Guild Wars Nightfall campaign - Moving slowly, having alpha tested many of these missions I have less desire to repeat many of them
Company of Heroes - Mission 10
Beyond Good and Evil - Through gametap, game keeps crashing at the same point
Shadow of the Colossus - I beat the colossus in the Arena a short while ago but I play infrequently. I have to wrestle with the camera too much to want to play for hours at a time.

Finished Gears of War on Insane. And it was.. Now I'm working on the Burnout Revenge Burning Lap/Previews- three left, and they all are currently silver. Then on to the "Signature Take-Downs." sigh.. burning laps. damnit.

On a quick side note, has anyone heard anything regarding DLC for GoW or R6:V?

I am soo close to finishing Wow...just a few more raids.

Look for R6 Vegas DLC no sooner than February. As for GRAW, I'll skip anything and go for GRAW 2 when it comes out in March.

Well GRAW too but I was asking about Gears...

I am, however, close to finishing Prey judging on the fact that a.) people say it's a damn short game, and b.) I'm having way too much fun.

Interesting. Prey is a game I only finished because it was damn short. I thought it was only mildly fun, but everyone else seemed to like it more than me. It just never clicked with me, I guess.

I only finished off Prey because you basically couldn't die. I would have given up on some of those final bosses if they had made me replay them. Even once.

Just finished Beyond Good and Evil yesterday morning before work. Definitely worth being a few minutes late.

Started Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door last night, and I've got to start and finish Metroid Prime 2 and SSX3 before I buy Twilight Princess.

Damn you, cheap games from Amazon third-parties! I'll never be done.

Now that I think about it, it's been a pretty good month for gaming. In the last 30 days I've polished off Bully and Gears of War, reached the mid 40s in Viva Pinata, nearly completed Tony Hawk 8, and reached the 8th dungeon in Zelda. If you go back another 10 days or so, I beat FF12 and completed GH2 on medium (which was quite a feat for my uncoordinated hands).

I've kind of slowed down on Zelda a bit now that I'm near the end -- I don't want it to be over, you know? Once I'm done with that I'll probably finish off Tony Hawk and play some more Viva Pinata.

Oh, and about Bully: it's certainly a good game and it was engaging enough that I bothered to complete it, but I just didn't find it as satisfying or memorable as any of the GTAs. It was refreshing to have that kind of gameplay without having to be a psychotic murderer, but still the game lacked that certain something that makes the GTA games so fun to play for me.

Well GRAW too but I was asking about Gears...

Doh, sorry! No idea.

I just finished The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess. I don't think I've ever gasped, giggled, and grinned so damn much playing a video game before, especially during the end.

In the past 3 month.

Games finished:

Splinter Cell: Double Agent
Gears of War
RainbowSix: Vegas

Currently playing:

F.E.A.R.
Final Fantasy XII
Tales of the Abyss

Finish a game? Here's the list of games I've just started in the last couple of months:

Gears of War
Rainbow Six: Vegas
TH Project 8
Call of Duty 3
Rayman: Raving Rabbids
Zelda: Twilight Princess
Okami
Final Fantasy VII
Guitar Hero II
New Super Mario Bros
Fatal Frame II
Viva Pinata

I'll probably finish all of them, eventually. I generally finish every game I like. With all these games, I figure I'm good through early Spring, easy.

I think the last game I actually finished was Half-Life 2, for the second time. I fired it up late last summer after I got my new PC. Before that? Prey, probably.

I'm thinking that's the next one I'll tackle. I had a pretty good run with it right after the Wii release, then Viva Pinata sucked me in.
