Is there a quick way to extract tracks from an ISO?

Canadian goth-metal-lite outfit Anxiety of Influence allows downloading of their CD, but it's in ISO format. I don't really want to mount a virtual CD drive, throw in the ISO, and rip from that. Is there a better way to do this?

You can try ISOBuster -- I believe that you can extract from ISO files without having to register.

What? No linky link to the music? For shame!

Time to turn to Google once again.

Wow, people still listen to Canadian Goth Metal?

WinRAR can open ISOs. MagicISO is another great utility but I don't know how limited the trial is.

No. The most reliable way is to mount a virtual drive and use a good ripping program like EAC (Exact Audio Copy).

And MS does make an 'unsupported' ISO mounter freely available for XP (if you know where to find it - and I do) you can get it here.

winxpvirtualcdcontrolpanel -- that's how Bill Gates gets HIS warez!

ISOBuster extracted the ISO data to a .tao file and left me hanging. I wasn't sure what to do with that, but FileXT tells me that's an ISOBuster file type. Imagine that.

Once I get the drive and ISO mounted, should I be able to play it like a CD? I get "disc cannot be read" errors or somesuch. I'll try it shihonage's way and see what happens.

Sorry: Anxiety of Influence. Think Evanescence towards the middle of the CD or Lacuna Coil with more piano.

Most "free" and therefore, crappy, disc image mounters/extractors do not mount/extract CD audio tracks. For instance I doubt that this Windows XP addon will do the job. I would suggest using Alcohol 120% if you have it (not free), or Daemon Tools (free) to mount the image.

Looking at that file it say's it's an .ISO on the web page but when I downloaded it, it was an .NGR a nero image format which I couldn't even get the XP virtual mounter to recognize. But I downloaded it from the megauploads link not the torrent.

By the way I just realized that may be the most politically incorrect file extension ever.

Good thing then that it's actually .NRG

I"m a dyslexic dork.

I thought mounting and extracting was easy! Back in my day we had to buy tapes, and listen to the songs in order, while pulling our wagons, up hill, in the snow!

I've gotten both versions, and I can't get either one to work. I guess I'll just have to burn it to CD and then extract it. >.<

Alcohol 120% mounts .NRG files with its virtual drive no problem. Don't know about Daemon Tools.
