PC Microphone Advice

I was at the local electronics sotre, and happened to get a really good deal on a pair of Sennheiser HD-500. I use ventrilo and Teamspeak a lot, so I wasn't sure if I'd replace my Plantronics .audio 90 until I plugged in the HD-500 and tried them: Wow!

Now I'm stuck with really good headphones, but no mic attached.

I've researched:

  • Zalman MIC1 - I bought one, but I can't get it close enough to my mouth, so it sounds hollow and far away.
  • A collar mic (sits on neck like a collar, but works like a headset) - I remember seeing these, but can't find any.
  • Samson USB mic - A little overboard
  • Logitech USB desktop mic - Anyone have any experience with them? Are they nice or do they just get in the way?

Any advice would be appreciated.

If you find a good elegant and affordable solution to this problem, let me know. Me and my Sennheiser 280 Pro's have been looking for a nice seperate mic for a long while now.

If you can get them used even better. Ask anyone on TS, this mike is perfect and you can use it on your PS2.

How does that help him find a good mic to go along with his already awesome set of headphones?
