FTP software?

Anyone have any good recommendations for a FTP server? So far i've tried Bulletproof, FileZilla, and cerebrus and they have all disappointed me.

I can't say I've used enough to really make a recommendation, but FTP Serv-U has worked well for us as a production FTP server.

We use globalscape's secureFTP where I work. Nice product. HIPAA compliant too, as is the above if it matters.

In Linux for a non-GUI server, I use proftpd.

In Windows, I echo Liquid's recommendation of Serv-U.

I used SmartFTP every week to upload huge-ass Radio files. Worked fine for me.

I use Bulletproof FTP to back up ~100gb of data over FTP protocol. It lives up to its name. What kind of problem did you have with it ?

It would lock up on certain folders. I had issues with the virtual directories not working in FlashFXP. SmartFTP also seems to lock up when it sends the NOOP command, even though I allowed it. I've been a happy user of BPFTP for several years now, it just seemed to fail on this setup.

No problems with NOOP in SmartFTP on my end. I've had it NOOP continually for hours on end with nary a hitch.

Well yea the client is probably fine. I'm having issues with FTP server software, not client software which SmartFTP is.

I'm confused. Why would he want to do that?

It's been around for ages, but it's still kinda funny

I've always used SmartFTP for my personal space as well and it's free.
