Help an iTunes n00b

Ok, I have "this friend", see?

So anyways, "this friend" has his iTunes on computer A. He backs up the actual music folder - all of the songs - onto computer B

If I want to move my itunes software to computer B and manage my iPod from computer B, I have to "decertify" computer A, and that scares me.

So... what is the process for doing that - changing it so that computer B is my music library manage and the location that I manage my iPod from?

I thought you could certify up to 5 computers with iTunes. My computer and my wife's laptop are both certified for our songs, so they (the songs) can be played on both.

you can have 5 computers authorized to play your downloaded Itunes store content

OK. now, "backing up" your library is as simple as just copying the songs onto the 2nd system, right?

Thanks for the quick answers, BTW.

Don't you have to do something extra to get the iPod to work with computer B? I can't remember.

Tell your "friend" to send me the iPod, and I'll get it working ASAP. Promise.

and what would that something be, Mr. "Bringer of more problems"

I was thinking there was some sort of protective measure to keep people from just plugging into random iTunes databases and getting music. Having never owned an iPod myself (so sad) I could be totally wrong.

Really I'm just trying to cause trouble in your thread. I aim to become your archnemesis.

You can be the Monarch to my Dr Venture.

Do you have a uniform picked out yet?

I guess since no one jumped up and said anything about my little iPod thought you should have no worries. Curses, foiled again!

Nice man breasts.

I know what you like.

You also need to backup your library files which are located in My Documents/Itunes.

Thanks, Scoli.
