Do we have a thread for maybe talking about how there might be a great filter that includes not having billions of years of algae turn into oil and millions of years of trees turn into coal? What do alien civilizations start out using as fuel if they don't have that history?

The old “gold box” D&D games came with a physical decoder ring and you had to solve and provide an answer when you launched the game.

That one and the one from "Curse of the Azure Bonds" remember me wheel, I mean, well.

I had another game that had a wheel, but can't think of it. I thought it was Battlehawks 1942 but that one used the manual. Found it. "Their Finest Hour: The Battle of Britain".

Sad thing is, I recall one of my dad’s friends just photocopied every position of the wheel.

Those were the days where you played so much, you memorized all the answers

My favorite one of those was Monty Python's Flying Circus on the Spectrum where you had to find a cartoon picture of a type of cheese in the manual and then enter the type of cheese.

Monkey Island had a pirate face wheel.
