Oh, just a little bit indeed.

Had a USB one back in college. The art department required everyone buy zip disks to keep files on for the graphic design classes. So many corrupted disks. Basically just bought a spindle of CDR's and just backed my files up every week. Ah, the dark ages before cloud storage.

Zip drives are possibly the singly crappiest technology I have ever had to deal with. Those things were a massive pain to even get connected, and those stupid disks failed constantly. I saw one at work recently shoved in a drawer, and just wanted to smash it with a hammer.

Yeah, Zip drives were all the rage during my early middle school days (late 90s, which probably tells you everything you need to know right there). My K-6 school had them everywhere. I didn't like the idea of a bulky extra peripheral for more storage, even if it had the same form factor as a floppy disk, I just never needed to store enough stuff to make it worthwhile. Plus, we were a Mac school, I think that added an extra wrinkle to it. None of them ever failed to my knowledge, but I've read about how crappy they were.

An era where male models had complex hairstyles?

I figured they were all butchers.

Not going to lie: been staring at this for five minutes while eating my lunch. I still don't know what is going on here.

I suspect we'll need it frequently in the next few years.
