Made me think of this little NSFW movie quote:

Spoiler:

One time my cousin Walter got this cat stuck up his ass. True story. He bought it at our local mall, so the whole fiasco wound up on the news. It was embarrasing for my relatives and all, but next week, he did it again. Different cat, same results, complete with another trip to the emergency room. So, I run into him a week later in the mall and he's buying another cat. And I says to him, "Jesus, Walt! What are you doing? You know you're just gonna get this cat stuck up your ass too. Why don't you knock it off?" And he said to me, "Brodie, how the hell else am I supposed to get the gerbil out?" My cousin was a weird guy.

I don't think we need any further proof. It is official. My brain is broken in horrible, horrible ways.

Fun fact: The first band I was in was named "My Cousin Walter" after that movie.

Thank you MeatMan, I've seriously been thinking about that for a long time. Now I want to know how far the Milky Way travels in one year.

Astronomers believe the Milky Way is moving at approximately 630 km per second relative to the average velocity of galaxies

so 365.25*24*3600*630=19 881 288 000 km , or

Another reference frame is provided by the cosmic microwave background (CMB). The Milky Way is moving at 552 ± 6 km/s

= 17 419 795 200 ± 189 345 600 km

So really friggin far by human standards but not far at all by cosmic standards. Sorry couldn't find an entertaining picture, no doubt someone will take charge of that.

God I enjoy having Chris Bosh around. Not as much as I enjoy Crazy Uncle Rasheed on the Knicks, but still.

Having not looked into it at all I doubt that this video is correct. Is the Sun rotating around it's axis in opposition to the way the galaxy rotates? It has been my understanding that our planet rotates on the same plane as the Sun, all of the other planets have the same movement with the exception of Uranus. The only way I think that video could be on the right track is if the Sun has an axial tilt that would make it appear to be rolling along it's orbit rather than spinning along it.

Also pictures!

I believe Venus has a retrograde rotation.

*quick Wikipedia check*

Yup:

All the planets of the Solar System orbit the Sun in a counter-clockwise direction as viewed from above the Sun's north pole. Most planets also rotate on their axis in a counter-clockwise direction, but Venus rotates clockwise (called "retrograde" rotation) once every 243 Earth days—the slowest rotation period of any planet.

The weekends are nice and long, but boy is the work week a bitch.

that's pretty misogynistic.
