Totally! If he'd even bothered to watch the movie before criticizing it he'd know that Edward Norton was Tyler Durden.

Spoilers!

Yeah, his and Angelina's movie careers have been in a slump lately. Oh, wait. I'm thinking of the other Brad and Angelina.

I think more damning is David Fincher directing the Halo 4 ads after having done Fight Club.

The Honeywell Kitchen Computer

It didn't sell a single unit. Gee, I wonder why?

If the lady of the house wanted to build her family’s dinner around broccoli, she’d have to code in the green veggie as 0001101000. The kitchen computer would then suggest foods to pair with broccoli from its database by “speaking” its recommendations as a series of flashing lights. Think of a primitive version of KITT, without the sexy voice.

Long but fascinating.

Even more so, you realize Brad Pitt didn't write those lines and is just an actor, right?

That was awesome.

Come on.

My point is: the medium is the message. It's not a new point in regards to the Fight Club movie, but the Brad Pitt/Chanel ads nicely revisit it.

Yeah, sorry, I don't see why the chanel ad has any bearing on Fight Club at all. If anything, it reenforces the themes in Fight Club because it's the kind of thing Chuck Palahniuk was talking about.

Yes, it reinforces the novel, of course. But it totally sinks the movie. You can't make a movie pushing an anti-consumerist message, when it's been bankrolled by Hollywood and features product-endorsing celebrities. That makes it completely empty.

1) People take Fight Club way too seriously considering Tyler Durden is clearly painted as a psychopath by the end.

2) You can't get an actor as big (and talented) as Brad Pitt and expect him not to plaster his face on some sort of item for people to buy. It's probably in his contract.

I honestly don't understand how it can reinforce the novel but sink the movie.

Gravey, you so crazy.

I had a dream where I was sitting around a table and drafting dialogue with the Kids in the Hall crew. It remains one of my most favourite dreams.
