That would have led to sepuku.
Come, let us not squabble, let us instead feast on ribs and beer while the foolish Superbowl teams most work and practice.
Only one roadbump left between me and my long-deserved championship.
I can.
Dammit, late is best for me - I still have shopping to get done. Can you play Saturday? I know it's "The Eve" and all. If not, maybe we'll play right after Christmas.
Let's do Monday Night. 10pm EST?
Flip a coin!
Swampy - Can we delay one more day? Logan and I got free hockey tickets for tonight - the first home game in weeks.
That shall be good, I will be there at 9.
Actually I'm already there.
OK, guess I needed to reply earlier. Let's do Wednesday (tomorrow) night then.
I'll be there
Wow, that would have been one to watch. Overtime no less! I'm impressed, Swampy
Swampy played a fantastic, close to the vest game.
Before Morton's drops, I was pissed at the difference in luck between our receivers. Swampy's receivers had caught everything that touched their hands up to that point - *no* incomplete passes that weren't intercepted. And some of those completions were in good coverage. My WRs, unfortunately, dropped a couple of passes that stalled drives. In such a tight game, it was making a huge difference.
After Morton dropped those balls, I felt "even". Swampy could've won in OT after that and I would've felt a hell of a lot better about it than if it had ended in regulation like that.
But I got the last bit of luck by winning the coin toss and getting the first chance to roll on offense, as it turned out to be the only possession of overtime.
So in the end, I got a little bit more luck and put together a great drive in overtime. Swampy played the best ball out of any opponent I had this season. This was not the same Swampy that I rolled in week 1. Swampy got his groove back in time for the playoffs, and his wins over Logan and Ruthless were no flukes. If he can play that level all season, he should be a big favorite for the next league. Especially since I am stepping out and letting everyone else have a nice league free of the torture of playing Legion.
Now, on to other matters - where's my Lombardi Trophy with Stan on it?
Big props to both Legion for the win and to Swampy for making him work for it.
And work it was. Nothing came easy, and there's nothing I look back on and say, "that was stupid, I should've done X instead". I played pure Legion football, and what used to move the ball fairly well on Swampy was suddenly a dogfight this time. I feel like I played the better game, but only by a very small smidge.
No, I have played 2K5 to death and just don't feel like playing it any more. Our game was a perfect heart-exploding note to finish on.
If I took a crappy team, I wouldn't just "play and lose". I would bust my balls until I could make that team win against anyone. I'm too competitive, and the worse a team I take, the harder I would end up working to make them a playoff team. And my heart can't take that.
Oh yes. The ice is my battlefield now, and I'm 2nd place right now.
