Windows Activation Sucks.

If you look at the forums on the nLite site, you'll also find a post by some other guy that doesn't like the way nLite and XPLite work, so he has batchfiles that delete files he doesn't need after the install. Not quite the same thing, but his post is all about Slimming Down XP, not slimming down the install.

Example: DirectX has something like 81 files, but you don't play games on this machine. nLite will remove ALL of DirectX, thereby also disabling your ability to watch AVI files - IIRC. Something like that. Anyway, for what it does well, nLite looks like the shiznit. Thanks man!

Sounds like something I would have definitely done if I had known about it a few days ago.

As it is, I've just now gotten everyhing installed and back to being the way I like it. No way am I starting over again already.

But I think the next time I reformat and start over I'll probably give it a shot.

Might want to go ahead and make a nLite CD now and put it in your XP case, so you have it when you need it. I think I might do so.
