2005 Baseball playoff picture set

It's official: ESPN's Woody Paige is a genius. He's the one who said over the last couple of weeks that the Yankees and the Red Sox would get in despite a majority of analysts saying that the Indians would take the AL wild card and that the BoSox would get the East title.

American League:

Boston vs. Chicago, or as I like to call it, "The War of the Sock Drawer," begins Tuesday.
NY Yankees vs. Los Angeles, begins Tuesday.

National League:

San Diego vs. St. Louis, or as I like to call it, "The Padres Massacre," begins Tuesday.
Houston vs. Atlanta, or as I like to call it, "You People Again?" begins Wednesday.

I would like to see the Red Sox get back to the Series again this year. And face the Cardinals and have the Cardinals beat the ever-living sh*t out of them.

Only better would be the pounding that the Cards would lay on the devil-worshipping, dog-killing Yankees. But then I would have to root for the Yankees to win. And that, just won't happen.

Man I hate the Yankees. And the Red Sox. And baseball.

I wonder if anything less then then a world series win sees Pinella in NY next year.

Man, do those Padres suck.

Man, do those Red Sox suck.

The friars are worthless. It was hilarious listening to the radio over the past few days though. This town is so optomistic. All I heard was how underrated the division was and that is why their record was below .500! What a joke. I guess it's the locals' jobs to generate a buzz about their team, but c'mon! Anyway, they lost with their ace on the hill... they are finished.

This just in: defending world champs and pereniennal underdog Boston Red Sox swept out of the postseason by Chicago, 5-3.

Hooray! Now I no longer need to care about the rest of the post-season.

The A's would've wasted Chicago...

Go Angels!... until the Yankee beast is dead... then I hope your plane to Chicago crashes. I swear, Oakland should've picked up Vladie when we had the chance.

And I can't wait to email my San Diego crew on Monday to see if they got their post season refund yet.. Told them there was no point..

Uh, one problem with that, Gio: Vlad Guerro costs money, something that Billy Beane seems unwilling to use on his own team, let alone on free agents.

Yeah now just the Yankess to go!

Although then the ratings for the WS will suck...

Yeah.. guess I can't really complain too much. Not many teams have an entire starting lineup that's consistently .250+ with at least 5 guys that can hit 20 homers. Durazo should be back in the lineup next year displacing Hatteburg at DH and everyone else is signed (except Macha.. really no love lost). A solid baserunner or a big bat would really push the A's over the top. Supposedly, Bynam and Bocachica are quick, but they have to get on base first.

How many next years do you get in Baseball?

According to Boston, 86.

18 innings after it started, Houston is advancing. They better hope they have enough time to rest before the CS.
