GWJFL Summer Week 4

Passing game IS seriously muted with these settings... Without a doubt in my mind.

Didn't seem to hold you back any, bastard.

Muted in the "I can't force the ball through two zone defenders anymore" sense.

If you make good throws, the passing game is far EASIER now. I'm completing over 75% with Leftwich, and I was no better than a 55% passer in the other leagues. I've watched Frankie throw the ball around the field like a madman - he made me chase down receivers like crazy in order to slow him down. Even still, he hung 306 yards up on me. The receivers, when open, drop much less. Unless they're Troy Edwards, but I expect that when throwing to him.

If you truly find the windows in the zones and throw through them, or throw to the guy that's beaten man coverage, you can complete passes all day on these settings.

Swampy, Spy. I love you guys like brothers. So I speak with love. I've played you both this season so far. The throws you guys tried against me were atrocious. You guys threw the ball at so many Jaguars that we had to reassure our defense that we weren't playing dodge ball. Spy actually wasn't so bad, he completed 11 out of 17. But the passes that were incomplete probably should never have left Roethlisberger's hand. Take more time to LOOK at the coverage, and look for truly open passing lanes. You want to release the ball BEFORE the receiver reaches the open area, not when he's already there.

Not counting the statistical error for Atlanta, you guys are last and next-to-last in passing yardage per game. Nobody else is having nearly as hard of a time. Even Warlock and Redhwk have you guys beat by a good margin. You guys CAN do it. It's a matter of being a bit more patient and making more well-planned throws.

I've seen more drops in this than the last league. Drops, not poor throwing decisions - those are a constant.

I did notice in my game with Certis that when I happened to find the good passes I could hit them time after time after time. I don't remember having many drops either. Even Freddie Mitchell was catching almost everthing I threw at him, but it was simply because I made good passes those times.

The problem was that when I did get around to making a passing mistake it was always a huge one and Certis ended up with the ball.

Was a fun game though.

Swampy - Highlander and I didn't get our game in before he left for the week. I suppose there's a slim chance we could get it in tomorrow night before I leave for the weekend.

Personally I'd love to play this game -- Tomlinson v. Lewis, etc. I don't know if we could get it in on Sunday night (probably, but it'll depend on Highlander's schedule).

At any rate, I'd love an extension to Sunday or Monday midnight, but I could understand if we need to get the schedule going. If you need to move on, a coin flip would be the best way to decide this one...

Dear Swampy,

Please remove my control of Atlanta and restore it to Logan. He'll be back here tonight and he's got DSL up at his Bay Area dwelling now too (still getting it all set up with the router, but it will be ready for his game following this week's one with Redhwk).

If you are to still give me the Lions, you can then send them AvantLegion's way. And if you do, I would be open to deals with Detroit that involve Tony Gonzalez. I've got four receivers with Catch ratings better than all of your receivers except Morton (who has an 85).

LOL, no kidding. Freddie Mitchell has been thrown to 16 times by you and has only 1 drop (a stat that you can see from within the game, but oddly enough, is not incorporated in the league site).

My beloved Jimmy Smith is leading the league in drops with 6! And stupid Troy Edwards has 3 drops from only 6 balls thrown at him.

If I extend to Sunday night can you get it in?

Pwease, Swampy? I'm supposed to play today with Redhwk.

Logan I'm up and moving around, looks like Swampy is in a MLB game. Did he hook you up yet?

Not yet - I just sent him an ESPN message - so he'll get it in-game. Bottom of the 5th - halfway done. So he'll see it.

I'm sitting in the game. gonna make some food then while I wait.

Sounds like a plan.

EDIT: I hope Swampy's the Red Sox - otherwise he's getting owned.

Swampy's on it - you ready, Redhwk? I'll be good to go in just a few.

I'm ready for my arse whooping, yo!

btw my mic thing doesnt work until I turn it on in game, just so you know i'm not being an ingnoring snob at the beginning

Let's roll!

You sir have been challenged!

Let's go Brady, Dillon!!

errr nevermind.

Swampy was the Sox. He wooped ass!

You're all set, fellas.

Thanks Swampy.

Good game Logan, add another casualty to my list, Rodney Harrison out for 8 weeks with a broken ankle.

Fear my 67 overall rated offense!!!

Good job breaking Logan's shutout in the last 9 seconds. Highlight of the game for me!

All my injuries were game-only. So we all good! Haha.

Good game, Redhwk.

Swampy, as I am just now back home and have yet to have a chance to play the patient Firesloth, we humbly ask for an extension to Sunday night. If the game is not played by Monday morning, then please give Firesloth the win.

Yeah what a tremendous offensive explosion by me tonight. Highlight of my night was listening to Logan cussing you out after I scored.

Frak you guys.

Roger that. Maybe we can play de baseballs after or before your footsball. What is your schedule?

It's Deja Vu all over again.

What time will YOU be available?

Any time Sunday night after 7 PM, I can play. And I can play late as I took Monday off

OK We got baseball sorta taken care of. Now back to this thread. Firesloth, when do you want to play football? I am going to try to play Swampy at 9 central in baseball.
