GWJ Fantasy Football

Is there going to be a Fantasy League this year?

Of course! And I will kick ass all the way to the Superbowl, then I will choke horribly.

I'd participate in a league.

I thought we discussed this btw...and the hope was that we will split into two leagues. I'd even offer to commish a second league, but that would allow us to have 10-12 per league versus the 20 I heard you all had last year.

I'm in as long as we have no more than 12 teams per league...

I'd agree with Pigpen. Once you get over 12 in fantasy football, it just sucks.

Two leagues to rule them all. If, of course, we have 24 or so people interested.

Well I'm pretty sure that there were 20 involved last year and I can name 3 - Pigpen, Legion, and myself - who are likely interested and were not in that previous number.

I wasn't in it either so that's 24 right there if all return.

And let's not use EA's Fantasy Service. I am assuming you guys used Yahoo last year Swampster?

Yep. We all Paypal'd cash to Optimistic and as a group we got the super league package. Cost each guy $6 and was well worth it.

We should do that again.

Yeah we did that for baseball. I love all the extras.

I'm going to be starting a fantasy league with 10 - 12 participants. There will be a small buy-in to play (to insure a maintained interest) and I'll be contacting people as we get further down the road based on participation level in last year's league and a few other criteria.

Remember, I was criticising your shady management style right down to the last weeks of the season! That spells p-a-r-t-i-c-i-p-a-t-i-o-n baby.

I will join any and all FF leagues I can, because I am a cracked out monkey and I need my fix. In other words, count me in.

I have to defend my championship, so count me in!

I'm in again. Last year was great. It was like watching an evil mastermind spread his tentacles into every facet of the game and turn all of them to his advantage. I've got to see what Certis does this year.

I'm in for sure. I suck, too.

Either league for me is fine, but that said, I'm a serious owner, and not really up for a league that doesn't have people actively playing/trading/free-agenting, etc...

I would like to recommend CBS Sportsline personally as the fantasy host, since you can decide your own scoring rules - I use them in my two leagues (one is a 12 team keeper league, now in its 7th year with zero change of owners, the other is in its 15th season, with 10-12 owners.) Usually works out to about $12 per team straight up (we bump it to $30 in the keeper league, with all extra $$ going to the super bowl winner and runner up, and points winner and runner up each year).

Just some other options to toss out

And unlike xbox football, baseball, hockey - I do NOT suck at fantasy football

You mean you dont want to give EA a million dollars to host your fantasy leagues?
Yahoo has been ok for baseball. CBS is very good.
I suck but I play everyday, a bit obsessive you might say

Yahoo was good for football, I thought. But this lemming will follow the crowd.

Yahoo was good for football

Yahoo has done some upgrades for this season.

I'd definitely be interested if it doesn't put us over 24. I prefer yahoo.

Does yahoo allow you to customize the rules and such? if so, then yes, if not, I still vote with cbssportsline - customization, tons of staff and quality articles and help, etc...

So, is someone keeping a list - and can certis publish somewhat soon who will be in his league - it will help to solidify both leagues membership and how many we have/need/wants/etc....?

Swampy's Jihad stands ready to join!
