I don't really have any upload space for a movie, but if you guys would like I'll put the replay through movie maker and see if I can shrink it down and maybe someone else with webspace can host it somewhere?
I don't know if this was because of my statement, but rest assured it was a joke. And I'll take your time down like a prom dress at my earliest convenience :D.
Though I wouldn't mind seeing it as an instructional aid...

Aren't you joking like 99% of the time?
I kind of assumed it was. I was just thinking of putting up the movie anyway, in case anybody wanted to see it. But since there's plenty of time left in the challenge maybe that's not necessary.
Perhaps we should make that a thing that we do at the end of each challenge? The winner posts a video replay of his winning run?
That would be pretty cool if you ask me
*edit*
Grumpi, if you'd like to see it I'll see what I can do with it, and maybe I could send it to you over AIM or MSN or something.
*edited again, because I've already posted too much in here*
I aimed my camera at the TV and recorded it. The quality blows even at it's full 54.8mb size though, so I don't think you would be able to see much if I shrunk it any.
If anybody cares I'll send it, if not that's cool too
Sanj, do you have an idea cooked up for the next challenge? If not, I think that it would be fun to do one with the Honda CRX. That car has just about the most upgrade options that I have seen in the game. There are about 6 engine swaps, and all sorts of goodies. Could make for some really varied setups for the challenge.
Cool, thanks J. IM or Gmail or whatever. Heck, I can probably even find a spot for you to upload... I just couldn't go hosting it for download.
Regarding the winner always posting a vid, I doubt everyone has the necessary hardware/software.
The ability to swap/post replays is something that MS should definitely consider for this game.
Gots the game and making duckets. Should be able to post a time tomorrow.
Can I purty please have a club invite.
10-4
Got my Elise purchased, now to go make money for mods.
Ok, I give up. I just can't get my time any faster. Mayber I will do better next time...
Sweet mother I was pissed for a bit. I finally blazed past Thin_J's time by a bit over a second. Unfortunately I was so used to the button presses I forgot to save my f*ckin' replay! I just about shouted.
Luckily the next run was a hair quicker :). Come and get me, Toots!

Whore!
I'm supposed to be going to bed! Instead.. On to Forza I go!
I have to ask. I've run like 10 two minute and thirty second runs in a row now. There's nowhere to shave off any time. It's just not there.
Are you running tons of power upgrades on stock tires and just struggling like a mofo to keep it on the road? I'm looking at the turns in the track, checking what I'm doing, and seeing absolutely no way to cut more time short of just plain going faster, and I've tried pretty much every possible combination of the power upgrades to go with the first level tire upgrade, and it's not possible to squeeze any more out without moving in to the A class. At least.. not unless you drive on stock tires...
Yup, I'm on stock tires.
Yup, I'm on stock tires.
Somehow, I knew you were going to say that.
I'm an American, son. I don't futz around with rubber compounds and fancy suspension doodads. I'll bolt on the biggest engine I can find, put in the biggest supercharger I can buy, do everything humanly possible to eek out every ounce of power out of the bastid and then wallow about like a pregnant holstien .
You're one o' dem Yooropeeans, ain't ya? Dem fellow Kentuckians should slap you silly.
Well I can't see how you folks 'wait at the starting line and let the car's clear out'. I'm in front and if I wait, I get bumped across the start line! LOL. Anyways, after I finally did this right thanks to some clarification from Cold'. And after umpteenth times racing this sucka, I finally got under :40 (2:39 something or other), only to see it put me at :40 in the stats. Oh well, you folks have brought this up already, so I went with it. Still my best time. If there's time tonight I may give it another go, but I've raced this track in this car so dang much I'm almost sick of it (although it is a fun track really).

Ha! Yeah, I don't wait, personally. On this track with this car class I leave the pack behind right off the bat and never see them again, and that's with the AI on Hard.

Once I'm finished with my hockey game I'll probably be jonesing for some racing. If you or other want to get together and race this fugger as a real race, I'd certainly be game. It'd be nice practice and good fun. Plus, I feel like having tequila tonight, which should make for an interesting driving experience :).
Man this game has turned Coldie into such a cocky bragging little biatch. You're lucky I'm stuck in freakin Chicago all week because I'd pop your balloon in a second pal! Well, about 148 of em, or something.

Cocky?

Ass.
But seriously, the course is ten times easier to drive with the first level tire upgrades.
Without them the car feels really squirrely and just less solid in general. I managed to shave another second off my time last night with the tires still upgrade, and then went on to try and discover the most possible power one can eke out of the car without hitting the A class while still on the stock tires. I think I've got it, now I have to try and tune the suspension and stuff to make up for the crap tires.
*sigh*
The "waiting for traffic to clear out" was only for those people whose setup managed to cause the algorithm to qualify them in the middle of the pack. If you're in the front row, you're likely to blow them away off the launch and, barring any mistakes, never see them again.
Yeah, I tried going back to stock tires last night as well. The car just gets so loose and wanders all over the track. I got much better times using upgraded tires as they improve acceleration as well. Dunno, maybe setting a negative camber would help stabalize things. I am just so used to upgrading my cars for handling that racing stock is difficult.

My post about this was sort of tongue and cheek Grumpi'. I knew
what ya mean't. But good tip if it could work for you for sure. Thanks
That's what I did...blew them away, and ended up way down the times list :>) But at least I could see my upgrades and slight tuning did some wonder's for me.

Yeah! And a whole lot more. I hope I hurt your feelings.
It appears as though CF wins the challenge, since it ended last night.
I fell asleep on my couch playing Rainbow Six with a friend of mine and never made it back to Forza.
I feel somehow cheated by my inability to stay awake.
It's ok though. CF can have the challenge win as long as he keeps losing every single actual race we do
Congrats, CF!
To be honest, I really have no clue how you guys got such fast times. Regardless of setup, I was never able to break a posted 2:40.
CF, after countless days of tweaking that damn car, I'd *love* to know what your final setup was...please share:)
Thanks!

Congratulations Mr. Forged. Enjoy while it lasts!

Ain't that the truth.

Will do, I'll post the details at my next Xbox session.
Congratulations Mr. Forged. Enjoy while it lasts!
Did anyone hear anything just now? I could have sworn I heard some sort of mewling noise.
Yea even with a few perfect runs i was never able to get below 2:32. I guess tuning was essential to get below that. Someone teach me how the heck to tune! =)
Yeah I'm curious about your setup too.
I'd imagine I'm using the same one as far as power and driving upgrades go, especially since there's only one combination that offers the highest horsepower without moving you into the next class.
The parts I'm most interested in are your tuning settings themselves. Things like the stress bars and suspension adjustments.
The gearing is less important, but I wouldn't mind knowing that too
