Forza Challenge Of The Week *updated 8 June*

Ok, I broke down and put on the aides after not being able to get below 2:38. I was able to post a pretty good time, but still a second and a half behind Cabbot. More tuning and a few more runs...

Damn. sh*t. F@ck.

Sanjuro, you don't want me in the car club? I thought you loved me.

No replays except for the top 10 I think, as it was in PGR2.

That's exactly how it works as far as I know.

I sent you an invite, my culturally duplicitous friend. I'll send you another one.

I tried this for over an hour and man, I've got work to do. I see most folks posting mid 2:30's and someone in 2:20 range(!). Best I could do is mid 2:40's. Ugh!

What did you do as far as upgrades? It's hard to find the best possible balance when you're not trying to pass a certain level, but with some toying around I eventually figured out a setup that worked best for me.

Also.. gearing adjustments were particularly important for this one. My time dropped from a 2:37 to a 2:34 after two trips into the gearing adjustment.

I'm not positive, but I think you can download someone else's car setup, which would give you their gearing and all that jazz. I'm pretty sure you can do that for anyone, regardless of their rank in the race at hand.

I was going to give it some more fine-tuning today and see if I couldn't maybe shave another second or two off, but didn't wake up in time and now I have to leave for work soon.

who is in the 2:20's?

I meant to say something about that too. Nobody as far as I can tell, unless you're looking at the regular old Live scoreboards and not just your friends or the car club.

Sorry folks. My memory may have played tricks with me in confusing this time with another I saw for another track.

EDIT: Thanks for the tips too Thin' . And Sanj' will be glad to know I have the communicator working again so he can hear me mumble some words everytime I 'taste dirt' (part of my times problem I'm having in this case too ;>)

Still waiting for my club invite!!!

Sorry for jacking this thread but Mr. Green when do u think u might want to play our league ball game???I posted there looking for u a couple of days ago....

Good gawd, this is what PMs are for, man.

It's not his fault. They're all like that.

Simpilot- did you see my note in the other Forza thread?

Anyone else have a problem where sometimes Xbox Live is adding 1 second to their times for no apparant reason. So far every race i've tried on this midengine event has done it to me. This last try i got the exact same time as Dutty 2:35:887 but on the scoreboard it's showing up as 36. I've had zero penalty time on these races.

Ground control to Major Tenchid: Read the thread, dog.

lol. I knew i had read something about it before thought it was another board though. Anyway hope it gets fixed soon.

(filthy skimmer)

This is the first time in a long while that I wish I had an Xbox at work. I'm starting to ratchet up to my Forza crescendo phase, I feel it. And that's without ever having even raced on Live. Madness.

Culturally du pli ci tous... as in duplicity? You mean that I... I have no idea what you mean man.

Anyway, I don't have the Elise 135 yet and it's not for sale. Where do you get it? I've looked at all the competetions and none had this car for prize either, unless I missed it, wich is quite possible seeing how I need my girlfriend to find the milk in the refrigirator half of the time...

I don't get it (I'm pretty dense sometimes), I buy an Elise 135, buy upgrades to B1, Paint it. But when I try to use it for this, all I get is a generic E 135. I tried to see if there was some clever way I can download the set-up to use it, but can't seem to do that either. What's the deal, we just use the default and just tune it? Or am I missing something again?

To be honest, I'm not quite sure what you're getting at here.

But if it helps, I had several power upgrades, putting the Elise from 135 base horsepower (or whatever it is, it's low), up to like 197 or something. That was as high as I could get it before the car hit the A class. I don't know what everybody else does, but I always upgrade all the handling and aero upgrades first, before I mess with the power. The only ones I leave are the tire and weight reduction upgrades. I usually do level 1 of those, and no more unless I'm trying to get to A1 or S class. Once I get all the handling upgrades I want, I then add as much power possible without passing the level I'm looking for.

Also: Has anybody passed my time yet? I'm not at home with my Xbox and I can't check.

Alrighty boys and girls. I just dropped the disc in the X for the first time so someone send me an invite. Thanks.

Why don't you tell us what steps you're doing, because that doesn't sound remotely right.

I bought an Elise, upped it to suit, made sure I was in that car, went to career mode, went to the point-to-point races, went to the MR series, chose the second event and ran it. That's what you should be doing.

Thanks ColdForged. I thought I tried this, but obviously not. What I was doing was going into Free Run and racing there (saw the stat's there). I thought when I tried to do this in career, I couldn't get Neub'E. I will follow your steps and give it a go. Thanks again. I was getting fustrated in that and my times!:)

I feel fairly dumb myself, though maybe I can blame it on a lack of a manual. Two questions:

How do I even check if I have a club invite? When I go to the Club screen, all it says is, "Create Club."

It seems like most of my cars won't let me do any adjusting outside of tire pressure. When I hit the R trigger to go to gearing, all I get is a bunch of grey bars that I can't change. The only car I've been able to change the gearing on is one of my top end Porsche's, and even then I can only change the top gear. What in the world am I missing?

1) You don't have an invite. You'll have a "join club" option when you have one.
2) You have to buy professional parts to tune them.

Edit: Quoting is FUBAR.

I am unloved by my fellow man.

Offhand, do people know what part modifies the ability to play with gear ratios? Can I still use those cars in stock events in career mode?

You've had an invite sitting in your inbox all week, dog.

Transmission and no, respectively.

And I still don't have one... *sob*

Read the car club thread.

Is it possible that the invite expired? I don't have the "Join Club" option that Greenie described. In other news, I'm not on your friends list... do I have to be on your friends list for you to send the invite? *shuffles feet* If you asked, maybe I'd be your friend *looks down, kicks clod of dirt*
