ESPN MLB 2k5

IT may be because they upped the release date after MVP announced it was coming out so early. The retail shops may have been confused.

I got mine at target, they had tons.

--edit--
I just read page 3 of this thread, screw you guys. Warlock, I saw your invite last night but when I accepted it I just sat there on the ""waiting for opponent"" screen for several minutes. So I just went back to playing with mys... er, playing single player.

Yes, we have to turn off the arcady stuff and try again Certis.

By your quick exit I can only assume yelling ""Run! Run!"" after every hit pissed you off, or Hoochie''s attempts to distract you and give me a chance in out football game had some effect?

Actually in both Football and Baseball I was still in the stats menus and stuff and it seemed like you''d dropped both games right away. I assumed after football you left because you wanted to wash the shame off your hands as quick as possible. After Baseball I figured Matlock was about to start.

How Odd. I saw the same thing happen on my end and assumed you were just being a jerk.

Maybe they have changed the server settings so that the game reports in quicker and manually dumps you? BTW, Matlock is a defense attorney. Can''t watch the bad guys!

Frankiemumbles and I played the other night and he said the same thing. I think it does drop you so you cannot chat with your opponent after the game -- which sucks.

New MLB2K5 reviews. IGN and TeamXBOX rate it slightly lower than MVP.

EB probably has it but entering there is soooo scary.

Introduce yourself to the manager there. They are usually so tired of dealing with 12 years olds that they''ll make it worth your while.

Another MP game under my belt (With the Certis again).

I''m thinking that in time All-Star will be the way to go with this one, Pro has some features that will be too easy. That, and ""Real Baseball"". The rest TBD.

The Certis was thinking that we should wait until the football leagues are in playoffs at the least, and I agree.

The manager is the scariest of the bunch.

I may have solved part of our league issues btw...you know how we were worried about the imbalance between the teams...Well, I''ve almost got my wife to agree to play (trying to get her into games, etc...you see ) Well, she''s a HUGE yankees fan, so if we give the yankees to her (sorry Swamp) then I guarantee you that the yankees are just another team...lol...trust me

Of course, I''m still a braves fan, so my claim stays put!

Also, can''t find any here in Winnipeg...hoping EB gets them today/tomorrow!

Well, actually it is covered in anothert way. Sorry I did not tell you guys earlier. I set up a test league and there is no provision for a draft of any kind, auto or human. So, you are playing with theonline rosters as they are when we start the league (which as previously discussed will be after football has at least gone into the playoffs, and probably a few rounds in).

So keep that in mind when you are picking teams. If you pick the Pirates, be prepared to not do too well. Of course player ability will be a factor, maybe more so than in football.

That''s why I suggest Swamp do the ''christian'' thing and let someone like my wife (who is a rabid fan...oh the fights we have ''braves vs yankees''...sigh) who''s skill level is slighty above...well, i''d bet my 8 year old son playing the pirates would beat her with the yankees...:-)

that way, you get to a more level playing field, even more enhanced by me taking (hopefully) the braves, since you all see my expertise and record with my 2 and 75 falcons in football...see how things work out

Couldn''t find that freakin game anywhere.

EB: Nope
Futureshop: Nope
Walmart: Nope
Toys R Us: Nope
Blockbuster: Nope
Microplay: Nope

So I came to the conclusion that there''s a delay caused by the production of the freaking bilingual manuals. Stupid french. Oh wait...

lol...seemed everyone got only two copies...and they sold out...

My local EB only had one copy left when I called so I had it put aside so I could pick it up later in the day. Futureshop''s website lists March 1st as the release date, which is odd. We actually usually get SEGA/Take 2 games a day earlier than the states, I guess they figured Canadians don''t like the Baseball so much.

what is the games official name please...makes it easier to ask for...??

Can I borrow one of those question marks? Ahhh... yeah. Thanks.

That would involve watching baseball which I''m not capable of doing without falling asleep.

Why would they think that eh?

Thanks,

and next question...were you abused by a 2nd grade english teacher, or perhaps forced to watch too many cartoons featuring ? marks...you seem to dislike their excessive use...

enquiring minds want to know!!!

This is nothing personal Pigpen (or anyone else for that matter) but multiple question marks and exclamation points makes otherwise intelligent and worthwhile people come across as raging morons sometimes. Same goes for not using capital letters really. I find it hard to take the poster seriously because they don''t seem to feel we''re worth the effort of making sure things are readable and don''t come across as being written by a twelve year old. Not saying you do Pigpen, I''ve kind of floated into general terms now.

See? You shouldn''t have asked, I got all serious and stuff. Here''s a bit from the Code of Conduct.

4) You Must Attempt to Follow English Standard - This is not a rule meant to squelch the voices of those who do not use English as a first language, but to remove those for whom English is their primary language but can not be bothered to form coherent sentences. We won''t ban you if you choose to haphazardly split infinitives, but the basic conventions of the language are a requirement, I think, for intelligent discussion. That means employing punctuation, capitalization, sentences, paragraphs, subjects/verbs, and the recognized and proper use of alpha/numeric characters (meaning W is not \\/\\/). Elite speak, except in the most ironic of circumstances, is forbidden, and internet acronyms like LOL, WTF, and AFAIK are to be used at a minimum.

We''re not too strict on enforcing this because there''s only so much time in the day but it''s something to keep in mind. If we want to keep idiots out of the forums and maintain the maturity that keeps folks here in the first place we have to post to a higher standard than most of the net seems to have.

Pfffffft! I got in still and you''ve even put me on the front page.

WHAT R U TALKING ABOUT CERTIS?!?!!?!!1

thiz forumz rox0rz!

I he be your boyfriend!!!!!!!!! (2 points for the reference... anyone?)

Seriously, though... I don''t have enough hours in the day with work and other games (stupid, stupid WoW) but does anyone want to schedule a game or two for, say, Wednesday night? I don''t do anything between the hours of 6:30 and 8 EST, and again at 10pm (could maybe fit a game or two in before I need to go to bed).

I''m sure plenty would love to play, I can go at 6:30 EST for a game if you want. I''ve only played two games but I think I''m getting a handle on things

Order it online Greenie. And Pigpen, did you misunderstand me? I''d rather have a red hot poker in the eye than play as the Yanks. If she''ll commit to the whole season, that is the important thing. But someone else mey want them and in that case it is a roll off by the comissioner. I am a BoSox Fan, but a casual one. So they''ll be my #1 pick, but I would not be heartbroken to give them up to a more rabid fan. My 2 and 3 are the Mets and Pirates.

Them''s fightin'' words round these parts son...I could understand that statement if you said the Mets but speaking as a Brooklyn born and raised fan, ""You blaspheme sir!"" *slap*. Here we go Yan-kees, here we go!

Note: Living in Boston for the last 7 years has made me a bigger Yankees fan than ever. They just hate us so very much its almost cute. I will play any team but the RedSox, I just cant take Trot''s whining.

Someone will play the BoSox. And count on whoever I play to punish your nasty Yankees <spits>
