ESPN MLB 2k5

What does being commissioner entail?

Lots of ass pain.

See all of the work Grumpy does in the football leagues? That.

Well I picked it up yesterday and played some last night. For $20 it is a great fricking game. Lots of settings for us to discuss before we start any leagues, guys.

I played online last night too. I had one dropped game, but experienced no loag, which is good for the pitching interface. I think I am going to have a hard time playing football now that this is here.

I will be pickint it up this week/weekend - havent played console baseball in years - too much of it in real life I guess.

so...whats the chance that we can NOT overlap this league with the football one so that the wife doesn''t shoot me?

Doubtful - just wear Kevlar - its what I do.

*I* would like to wait until the Football league is done. Multiple games to schedule in a week can get confusing, plus that''ll give me time to get better than all of you... err... I mean, try out all the settings...

You guys are going to want to play casually for at least a few weeks before you start jumping into leagues, just like we did with football. That should also give people plenty of time to decide if they like the game enough to commit and fiddle with settings.

I''m up for some games tonight if anyone has time.

I might be down with that squirrelmoney. Maybe we should set up a casual baseball night, kind of like the Links night.

The Certis is correct. For now we need to talk about the league, but not set it up until we know who likes the game and the best settings for the league.

For those of you on the fence: Pitching is a LOT of fun. Hitting, I''ll let you know as I have not done much of that.

I''m hoping to pick this game up and play in the league if possible. Add me to the list of people more likely to play if one or more of the football leagues are over.

Hitting is pretty tough on all-star. I got one-hit last night by the cpu. Granted, I was playing the Indians, not my usual Bronx Bombers but still...

I was playing on pro. Maybe the league should be on pro, as offensive games are more fun than pitchers'' duels (for most guys)

@Psycho. That will happen. Now go get the game. The power of Swampy compells you!

See how pro treats you after a week or so. It might get too easy to see the pitches after a while, it did last year. Aaaaand, there''s nothing wrong with a good pitchers duel

No, I prefer a defensive game, I was just quessing at others preferrences. But - I agree, we have to play before we decide.

I''m going to pick it up and give it a whirl. I won''t commit to a league at this point because I don''t know how my Mar/Apr work schedule is going to be and whether or not I''ll like the damn game.

If I do like the game AND I''m not driven insane by work for the next two months, I''d love to participate in a baseball league.

As it stands, I''d prefer accurate teams (I don''t give a damn about the Yankees!) and I choose the good ol'' MN Twins.

Damnit, guys, stop talking me into sports games! I have a geeky, musician, non-jock reputation to maintain!

That said, I''ll check this out in a couple weeks after I get all mid-westerney.

I don''t follow baseball, I can''t stand watching games on TV, and yet I''m still interested in playing with you guys. I hate you all.

It''ll be fun. I''ll beat you, you''ll whine. You know, just like Football, Golf, and Hockey*

* Me winning/you whining to be completed at a future date

While we''re at it, when you get settled in, pick up a football team for the last few games of the season.

You''re relentless. Do you just need someone you can actually beat in the league?

You had me eyeing MLB 2k5 tonight. I''d pick it up if I didn''t already feel so guilty for owning so many sports games. But we''ll see.

Guilt is for chumps. You''re better than that, Demi. I believe in you, man.

Besides, this game is going for what you normally spend on a quickie from a transvestite hooker. Just keep driving home after work tonight instead of making your usual Friday night stop, and the game''s paid for!

Oh snap!

Dude, a transvestite hooker costs more than $20....oops, I mean I THINK one would cost more than $20, how would I know?!

I think I''m gonna pick this one up tonight. Swampy, you up for some revenge this weekend?

I now own Baseball, that makes four ESPN sports games in my collection now. Geez.

Maybe we can try it after football Swampy.

Greenie: Yes.

Certis: Yes

Squirrel: Just ask Demi.

I''m not asking Demi. It''s obvious he goes for the cheap ones. Probably just gets the body shampoo or something.

No, he IS a 20$ travestite hooker.
