24 game announced

From Worth Playing

I think I can tell you where this game is going. First, you (Jack) discover a plot involving terrorists. Then, you beat some answers out of people, screaming at the top of your lungs in the process. Then, you thwart the first plot. After that, you discover a second, more devastating plot. During the course of exposing it, you get captured and/or beat up by the bad guys. Kim gets in trouble in some idiotic subplot, Tony and the folks at CTU butt heads with bureaucrats and government types, and you have the longest day of your life. The end.

Well since I was robbed of Dennis Haysbert in the new Splinter Cell, he sure better be in the 24 game.

I''ll take that over a stealth game with vampires and clones and big robots.

So I guess the show was good that they making it into the game... I assume that all 100+ missions will be time limited due to 24hour deadline. Just to point I have no idea what the show was about except that it''s something to do with terrorist. If there is time limit, I'll pass the game in a second, because it only leads to frustration. One thing I can say, I hope they have better luck than those with movie-to-game attempts.

I didn''t notice a developer mentioned in the article...could Sony be doing it in-house? It looks like it could be pretty cool. Although I''m with Nei: time limits suck.

It''s being done at their Cambridge Studio, the folks behind such gems as ""Primal"" and ""Ghosthunter.""

I''m so buying this, reviews be damned. I love 24 unconditionally.

Screens here, in French

Hmmmm...those guys have got skills. I''ll have to keep my eyes peeled for this one!

A virtual Elisha Cuthbert?

I''m sold.. who do I give my money to?

Uh, aren''t you all forgetting the following:

a.) It''s a game based on a licensed property, 99% of which fail miserably.

and

2.) It''s based on 24, a franchise that reaks of rotting eggs almost as much as Star Trek these days?

Says you, boy. I like 24 just fine.

Nevertheless, I can''t see how this can be done with any relative decency. A 24 movie is one thing - that can be done, and it can transfer well - but a video game doesn''t fit for me. Too much goes on at CTU, at a desk, to really work. I mean, look at the latest couple of episodes - Jack hasn''t even fired a shot.

Leave the terrorists to Sam Fisher.

You can watch some footage here in this trailer featuring Kiefer Sutherland. Login / PW: preview / C3%qt24 (Saw that over at Gamefront.)

Personally, I would''ve rather done a prequel to the whole series with Jack going on his Drazen mission.

Whatever. It''ll suck, but I fear the Fleshreaper, and will pay for the Merch.
