Blackhand Poll

If you''d asked me in December I''d have voted yes in a heartbeat but things seem to have calmed down with lag and queues. I play almost exclusively Horde and haven''t really noticed the population issues that people are mentioning on Alliance Blackhand. I do generally find my experience to be a smoother one on my alt (low pop) server Shadowsong, but not enough to move 100 people.

How many people would join Blackhand if they were able to I guess is another relevant question.
I''ll come over, but I have to bring 3 friends with me.

Well my POV comes down to I don''t think it can get worse (as long as we are moved to a preferably new, low-pop server) and it has the added benefit of giving us to chance to consolidate the community.* Regarding the FF example, if I was Blizzard, I''d cap the number of migrated accounts allowed so as to ensure that you didn''t create yet another high-pop server.

All of that being said, I think that this will be my last post in this thread. I feel like I''m repeating myself and beating a dead horse since, like most things done by committee, I don''t expect any action to be taken since even the yes votes are ""yes if everyone else does it"" and it will never be unanimous.

Regardless, I''m happy with WoW and since I''m (not unexpectedly) getting
outpaced by most GWJ''ers, it doesn''t really matter to me either way.

*If the community could consolidate on Blackhand, then I''d see no reason to move but see my earlier posts as to why I doubt this well happen.

I voted no and will stay where I am unless you move to a server on mountain time. I will not do another central, and ESPECIALLY not eastern.

Is it common for people to be picking their servers based on time zones? I hadn''t realized that was common practice; wasn''t even aware that they had different time zone servers. Is this a concern because of peak playing hours in eastern/central?

I''m not trying to pick, I''m just honestly baffled about the whole time zone response. I figured people picked their servers based on population, cool names, and if their friends were there.

In the beginning the servers were sorted by time zone.
They took that out after a couple weeks.

The assumption (I say assumption because I haven''t 100% verified it, but it DOES make sense) is that the time zones depict the physical location of the server, hence usually less lag issues.

Central and Eastern servers are in one datacenter, Pacific and Mountain another.

I voted that we move the guild.

Recently I started playing my guilded alt, an alliance paladin on Blackhand. I started noticing the problems everyone has been complaining about. I was shock to have to wait 30 sec to send an item through mail. Ironforge auction house was just a mass lump of avatars and names messed in a small building. Searching for items through the AH menu takes so long. Mail takes quite a while to send. Buy an item, wait 5 minutes later to get it in the mail.

All the above things are pretty much instant on the server I mainly play on. I experienced no problems with lag at the AH, mail lag, loot lag, queues, or such as a horde on a medium server as my 66 hours played this week can attest to. The only time I have trouble would be when the login servers are down.

I think that if the guild were to move a low pop server, it will ease many of the frustrations that the guild members face. Heck, most of the time I would plan to go level my alt on blackhand but then I see a queue so I just go play on my main since I can login and play without waiting.
