Need help replicating bug - PvP

I got ""griefed"" for the first time in WoW last night; I was exploring (solo) an the Maker''s Terrace (Loch Modan) site near a much higher level region- The Burning Steppes-, when an Orc Shaman (I''m pretty sure- unless there arr Orc character that can cast spells) named Maenor tore by and (despite my ""no player vs player"" flag, hit me with some spell that killed me almost immediately. I ended up rising in the cemetary of the The Burning Steppes- and had a long run back to my body- fortunately I didn''t resurrect myself there (Burning Steppes)....I reported it and a GM contacted me to confirm some details. I noticed that Thelsamer was seeming under attack by this guy (or others) for a while last night...anyway, aside from that I had a lot of fun playing in a new area and completing several new quests.

Many of these events are caused by random buffing of PVP flagged allies.

If you buff or heal in anyway someone on your side who has their flag on then you get your flag turned on and can be attacked by the opposing faction.

Good to know.

Cewar,

Are you sure you didn''t heal a guard or just randomly buff someone who had their flag on? If PvP flagging was broken this bad you would have heard about it big time by now.

I had two PvP experiences yesterday. First, I went into the Undercity (sneaky rogue I be) and then came back out of the city not realizing my flag got turned on automatically by going into the city. I did my little emote I do to taunt Horde players to some level 44s outside of the city and kept running. I didn''t see my flag was on and they chased me down. I survived for a bit using some rogue abilities (I was out of flash powder however) and I died. But right when I died, some level 50s showed up from the Alliance and smacked that nasty tauren and troll down.

Second one was when we were running to SM. A level 40ish paladin had his flag on and I saw an undead turn to follow him. I saw the undead cast on the paladin so I stood up for my side. It was only a second later that I realized that the undead was only level 13 and I killed him in one shot. 167, 158 double attack...dead. Oh well, that will teach those scum.

Interesting. I''m always buffing other players with Power Word: Fortitude- as a Priest, I figure it''s the right thing to do (and in character).

So, buffing a PvP disabled character doesn''t turn my PvP flag on- but buffing a PvP ENABLED character turns it on?

I''ll have to, sadly, be more selective in buffing in the future, if that''s the case....

Thanks for the feedback.

Thats it exactly...but I wouldnt worry about it that much..afterall death is a tiny inconvenience in this game. I''d much rather stay in the spirit of faction vs faction.

The flag wears off in under 5 minutes and I find it gets my blood flowing to run around with it on sometimes. Last night, I was proud to see our group all have green names while running up to SM where Horde characters were hanging out. They didn''t want none!

Yeah, that 43 troll looked over us, then left.
