Anyone Jumping on the WISH Beta?

So, um, yeah, anyone going to take time off from WoW for this?

I played briefly in the Wish beta last december/january and really wasn''t impressed. On the one hand I''m interested to see what they''ve done with an extra year of development. On the other hand, I really don''t care.

Meh.

Well, you know me, it''s new and shiny so I got to check it out, even if I''m not a mmorpg fan. Sooner or later they are going to come up with on that makes me open my wallet, right?

I worked on the Wish Warcry site for awhile, and it seems like an interesting game, and has a pretty strong core following. I just don''t see how anything but the big names can manage to last right now...

But, here''s hoping they find a way... I''ll probably give it a shot, but unless it''s life-changing, it won''t be anything more than the beta.

Ditto for me as well. I''d forgotten completely about the game actually.

One of my friends is their leader world designer, so I hope it does well. I don''t think any game that isn''t from a big company or big franchise, will do well. Why jump to another fantasy MMO when WoW and EQ2 were just released and with MEO coming out next year?

And I''m not even sure that MEO will do well.

I think it will. Middle-earth is the biggest title you could in a MMO space and will be huge.

I don''t know I had a different impression... yeah there was not much ""game"" there something the devs freely acknowledged, but it had an incredible refined engine with perhaps the best click to move system I have every seen in any fully rendered world. Also the live events they did where pretty good but few and far between. I''m real interested in seeing where they have taken this one and if they managed to take the incredible engine and put a game into it :).

It''s not a question of jumping to something new but rather trying something new :). Never know when there is diamond in the ruff.

Personal I am pretty unimpressed with EQ2, just looks like sh*t to be playable even on a high end box and is incredible chore driven, rather then fun powered IMO. I like wow quite a bit though the lack of low level instanced dungeons and the need to compete for resources to some extent is a disappointment. They needed more of COH model IMO. Still it''s the most bang for my buck in while on the MMORPG front (blizzard gets extra points for having a good looking game that will also run on my laptop and work through my work firewall, something few others will do, and not sony game has every done, lazy network code hacks).

I signed up, don''t know if I will play. I am really looking forward to D&D online, but we''ll see if they can actually pull it off decently or not.

Everyone likes different things of course. I hated the movement system and found the game inexcusably ugly for something so modern. That was a year ago though, so who know where it stands now. I''ll probably try the beta, I usually do.

Starting to have to agree about EQ2. Lately it''s ceased to be fun and become more of a chore.
