Check out the Cog disguise. Once I get Squirt and Lure built up a bit more, I''ll start going after the VP.

I know I might come off as an ass but this is a pet peeve of mine. There are only ""toons"" in cartoons. The character you are playing is your ""avatar"" and now I''ll put back on my gold medal of geekness.

No, I''m with you...when I think of ""Toons"" I think of people who dress up as animals and go to sex conventions.....*shudder*

I''m stylin!

[Sorry for being Off-Topic but I couldnt resist :P]
Here''s my ""World of Wonder"" toon right now. He''s quite a handful and the ""Backyard Minefield Zone"" is quite dangerous but the daily quests there are rather intriguing!

Is it possible to make an avatar that looks more normal without going to the gnomes? I would want something that looks more like a regular guy, but the art direction seems to have a very cartoon flair.

You mean like playing a human Super?

Yeah, but even those look pretty goofy to me. I spent too much time in my D&D geek days studying medieval arms & armor, so when I look at most of the equipment I immediately reject it on practical grounds. Too many handholds for an opponent on armor, ridiculously unweidly weapons, armor plates that would deflect a blow into unarmored areas, that sort of thing. I guess it is just an issue with the art direction, but it makes me grind my teeth a little.

This is my primary character on Llane:

Nice Gold and Blue tabard!

How the hell did you get colour coordinated? Was that just luck or did you actually find a way to make things of the colour you want?

It''s pretty much just staying faithful to the entire WarCraft series of games. It''s not like Zelda where The Wind Waker was a dramatic change in art direction from the previous title. This game is quite literally the World of Warcraft. If even the avatars don''t appeal to you, you''d probaby downright hate the environment.

EQ''s design is a bit more ""realistic"" (as realistic as a kobold might ever be).

I am a mage specializing in frost, so I am wearing the Azure silk tunic, leggings, etc.

I''ve noticed people attempting to get color-coordinated outfits recently. You''ll see /trade channel chatter like, ""Can anyone recommend some red shoulders for lvl 40?""

Yeah, well, my guild''s tabard is black with red trim. Mainly because we loosly decided that black and red are good ""official"" guild colours. But I got brown boots, pink shoulders, green chest, blue/silver pants, yelowish bracers, purple (or is it orange now?) cape, etc.

What really gets me is that crafters get to have coloured recipes. So, why on earth can''t they swap a different dye into the same recipe and get a differently coloured item?? You mean if crafters could do that, people might actually buy their wares then? Wow, imagine that.

Extremely valid point. Wish Blizzard would consider that.

There are different patterns for different colors. For example I can make plain, red, green or black bags, each there own pattern. Same for shirts. I''ve come across the same for armor, although the color also influences the stats. For example a black mageweave vest vs a red mageweave vest.
