KotOR 2? Anyone?

Pages

I can't believe everyone is waiting for the PC version of Sith Lords. I mean, it's out. On the Xbox. As I type this. How can you resist? I might be slighty biased though, since I played the first one on the 'Box too.

We got them in Monday night at the Gamestop I work at, and with the discount and some credits I hadn't spent it came to $36. I tried to say no, but the only sound that echoed out of my mouth was "Yes." So I'm about 10 hours in, and so far it's pretty solid.

Did anyoneget this too? Or am I going to have to wait till next year before anyone else can share in my happiness?

P.S. Someone came in to buy the game, and called it "Kotor 2." He said the acronym like it was an actual word. Please please please, if you love and respect yourself, don't do that. I find that referring to it as "The non-suck-filled Star Wars game" typically does the trick as long as we're talking post-Prequel. Thank you for your cooperation.

One of the guys that is currently working for me; (1) went out and picked up the game at EB, and (2) went by Best Buy and bought an XBox just for this game. He will most likely have his way with me and I will go out and buy the XBox version of the game. The reviews are pretty decent so far, which is excellent news for our friends at Obsidian. I hate to be a heathen, but KOTOR was just tedious for me after a couple of days. And I couldn''t stand any of the non-robotic or non-Jolee Bindo characters. I''m pretty sure I''ll be passing on KOTOR 2.

PS- My Gamestop is also infested with acronym-minded idiots. ""Did Pop 2 come in yet?"" Sir, what the hell is Pop 2?"" ""Prince Of Persia? God! <disgust>""

Not waiting for the PC version. Waiting for Christmas.

And yes, saying ""Koh-tor"" deserves a b-slap.

*bows head in shame*

I had to visit a client at the mall and popped into EB to see what was shaking. I was going to wait for the PC version but dammit, I had enough credit on my EB card to buy the game outright so I did.

I''m weak.

Waiting on the PC version. I''ve heard plenty of tell on slowdowns and such on the X-Box version, glitches that were in the original on the X-Box but not on the PC.

Heathen.

I''m also waiting for the PC version. Considering that the PC version of KOTOR had some extras that the Xbox version didn''t, and add in the fact that I don''t have an HDTV, I''m definately going to hold out for the PC. Why pay the same for less?

This has been Out Of Context Theatre. Thank you, and good night.

PS - I don''t see a problem with ""KotOR"" as a word. It''s all about efficiency. POP is silly - it''s easy enough to say, but KotOR is long enough to get its own acronym. I notice that none of you folks are bothering to type out ""Knights of the Old Republic"".

""Pop"" is dumb.

However whenever I think about Knights of the Old Republic, I pronounce it ""koh-tor"" in my head. Don''t think I''ve ever said it aloud though...

I''m an old Monty Python fan, so it''s always been

Kah-Nee-Guts

for me.

To be technical, this game''s full title is Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 - The Sith Lords. It got painful to listen to the developers say that over and over again word for word in video interviews.

I picked it up Monday night and have played about 4 hours so far. The first one was my favorite game of 2003 so I have been eagerly awaiting this. Call me a heathen but I preferred the game on the Xbox over PC. I tried playing it again on the PC as a light side character but it just felt weird to me.

Only thing holding me back is my WoW addiction. I would probably have had the game beat by now if it wasn''t for that game.

I''ll be getting it eventually for the Xbox.

Some games I just have to play on the Xbox!

I really enjoyed the 1st one!

Maybe I''m not anal-retentive, but what the f*ck''s wrong with calling it KotOR? I end of calling it that because I''m too damn lazy to say knightsoftheoldrepublic all rapid-fire-like four times in a sentence.

Then again, I can''t recall ever saying it out loud except with friends.

Now if someone calls it ""kotter"", that''s ah paddlin.

I would pick this up if I could, but it''s on my birthday/xmas list, therefore I must wait until nobody gets it for me and pick it up after the holidays. I''ll just have to be content with Half-Life 2 until that time.

It''s under the tree for me BTW, I will have it on Christmas if I can tear myself away from WoW (ha!).

I have it as of last night. Alas, I have yet to play it though ... I will be playing it this weekend. Maybe tonight if I get the chance.

My girlfriend has been playing it the past couple of days, and she really likes it. She ""stole"" the first one from me and completed it twice. First glance from me and I noticed it looked like more of the same, but that can hardly be a bad thing

Oooh! Oooh! Oooh! Mistah Kot-ter!

I am waiting for my income to equal or exceed my expenditures again before I am allowing myself anywhere near those code-pushing game peddlers.

Sadly, I enjoy eating real food and having a nice, warm apartment. Call me weak. Call me a poseur. Do your worst!

Kotter 2 is definitely on my list, though.

Calling Prince of Persia ""Pop"" in the real world is dumb. On a gaming message board folks could probably easily figure out what you mean but still. ""Pop"", to me is either a soda or my father. Kotor while it sounds dumb and geeky to say, at least makes sense as an acronym and saves time if you''re really that lazy. WoW is just fun to use in conversation.

I''ll probably get kotor2 for the xbox so I''ll actually use the darn thing instead of it sitting there next to the tv as a monument to me wasting $150 on something I hardly ever use. Only thing that worries me is some are saying the framerate drops into single digits in some battles.

Morgan web says Kotor as a word on X-play. I think she deserves a spanking. Oh yes does she ever deserve a spanking.

Oh yes does she ever deserve a spanking.

But whoever would we get to deliver it?

Wait, now there''s a horrible mental image in my head of Adam Sessler doing just that, and it''s oh so very wrong.

Gee, thanks, Elysium. Now I have to wipe up the ""Full Throttle"" energy drink off my monitor. That''s got to be the longest statement I''ve ever read to cause a spit-take.

I just can''t help but say Koh-Tor (like Kor-Ah, but with less death cultishness. Maybe.)

Of course, since it''s a sequel, we can always chip in with Welcome back, KotOR!

Internally here at Obsidian, we do call it KotOR2. Imagine the man hours that have been saved by not speaking the full name every time we discuss the game!

Hey, if it''s on George Lucas'' dollar.

like Kor-Ah, but with less death cultishness. Maybe

Best obscure reference in quite a while.

Cheers, Tyrian!

I figured someone on here would get that one. I mean, who hasn''t played that game?

I''ll do it. She still owes me ten bucks. Daffy, little broad. *mutter mutter mutter*

If it weren''t for my families rules of not buying yourself anything in December, I''d have the XBox version. Alas, I must wait for Christmas before I can play.
