Leveling fast in WoW?

Here''s a hypothetical scenerio. Supposed that you''re 5 xp from passing the bar. You kill a monster that will normall give you 100xp. Your xp gained before the bar will double, meaning that the first 2.5 xp gained from the kill will be doubled, turned to 5, and fill the bar. The 97.5 xp that''s left will be gained normally. In toll, you gain 97.5 + 5 = 102.5 xp.

In my playtime I''ve noticed just going to the inn and getting the ''you are rested'' doubles the xp on my next kill. It''s not worth it to go back to the inn in between kills though.

I''ll pay closer attention today/tonight to make sure I''m not starting a rumor.

With the rest bonus they were giving me 326

There are creatures such as Murlocs and Naga that with give this much xp as green mobs with the rest bonus. This is my main argument for grinding technically being the fastest way to level. I would seriously not recommend it though.

I think people need to get the fast leveling idea out of their head. WoW is not a fast leveling game. As a matter of fact, when questing, WoW is just as slow as EQ1 at 2, 3, 4 hours per level. Its just that its fun and you dont notice the time passing.

Every level to me seems like it takes an hour or so but I look at the time played and its 3.5 hours.

Questing is the fastest way to level up until around 12. After that, quests are farther apart. There is a bit of backtracking involved. Quest drops become way less.

I am not complaining! I am trying to give a technically accurate answer.

I wonder if you are 5 xp from passing the rest bar and you go out and whack a red monster if it continues to be doubled (i.e. you get 500 xp normally do you get 505 or does it double the 500 to 1000)?

You get 505. It only doubles the amount available to the bar. In this case 5xp gets doubled to 10xp (the first 5 out of that 500 for 505) .

That always gets me a ""+1 exp rested bonus"" on the combat log.
