Which is the best MMORPG if....?

So Christmas is coming and I'm trying to figure out what to get my Little brothers, both in college, both Gamers to some extent.

We all played EQ back about 3 years ago, but eventually got over it...
Back then we all lived in the same house and played on the same Machine with different characters, now we're spread across the country and I thought it would be cool if we could all play a game together in the evenings.

The dilemma is... EQ2 or WoW... and which is the most cost effective choice?

Will one of these games let us all play different characters on the same account all at the same time?

If we bought one copy of the game could we possibly each install the same copy? I assume you need the CD to play...

They both cost about $50, right?
What's the cheapest way to do this?

Thanks,
Jake

You can have the game installed on different computers, but you can only have one account with it. That means only one playing at a time. If you want to play together, each needs to buy the game, no shortcuts here. Sorry!

Best bet is to find it on sale.

Edit: You may want to consider one of the free korean MMO. There are easily 30 of them floating around. And you can''t beat the price.

It''s about time for GoGamer to have a sale on WoW, that''s what I would recommend, but I''m biased.

You''re begging for a religous war when you ask if EQ2 or WoW would be better, you do realize that, right?

I enjoy WoW more than EQ2. It''s totally a personal preference issue and I imagine you''ll enjoy either one. I will say if any of you have a lesser system than you might prefer or be able to afford, then I''d suggest WoW. It can run on some skimpy systems and look close to what the developers intended.

/religious war begins

I will personally smite any heathen that dares recommend EQ2 over WoW.

WoW is an MMORPG for the trainig wheel crowd. EQ2 is the big boy MMORPG.

Both games require a box purchase per account and a monthly sub per account.

I picture the crotchety old grandpa still driving his 1940 edsel...

And I''m zipping by in my new 2005 Mustang, and offering him a ride, but he just...won''t...get in.

I didn''t know that Metal had a bigwheel for the 2005 Mustang. This is what is great about GWJ, I learn something new everyday!

Gee, guys, calm down. Why don''t we converse like mature, intelligent human beings and accept the fact that they both suck?

Oh crap!

Ultima Online on a free public server.........

Thanks everybody for your response,
I won''t say which MMORPG I''m leaning towards in an attempt to ward off Holy Crusaders.

Is Ultima Online at all comparable to EQ or WoW?

I''m aware of it, and I know it was the sh*t way back in the day, but is it really any fun anymore?

Thanks again for all the help.
I''ll try and remember to post what I end up doing in the end here.

Jake

My response of UO was tongue-in-cheek

Actually UO IMO was great fun for it''s time, and is probably worth a replay or two just to get a taste of what the ''good old days'' in MMORPG''s were like. But it really doesn''t compare (at least graphically) to WOW or EQ.
