Football!

Woot!

Nice to see the Bucs offense open it up against the Chiefs!

Also, nice to see the Eagles lose. I heard there was some type of disagreement between TO and McNabb on the sideline...and so the cancer begins...

Yeah, Cincinnati totally dominated!

Steeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelers!

Jags are on a bye. Good timing too. Leftwich''s knee needs the time.

Ya, I saw the footage of TO and McNabb.. was pretty funny. McNabb is just walking away and TO is chewing him a new asshole.. they just keep pacing up and down the sidelines together with McNabb trying to ignore him and TO just going ballistic.. at one point yelling at McNabb from like 20 feet away. It was great to see Phily lose.. but I was really hoping the Giants would come up with the win to bring them closer together in the stats. So far, it doesn''t look good.. Giants are down by 6 points. Bah.

Go Steelers - the Black and Yellow shall rise again

Um....hate to dissapoint people but there was no ""riff"" between TO and McNabb...other than him trying to keep McNabb in the game and let him know that he was getting open still.

Why so much hate??

bizzare.

Why so much hate??

Because as much as you like the Eagles, TO is still an asshole who starts screaming the moment he isn''t winning. Well established by now.

Everyone''s been waiting for TO to blow up, so the first sign of unrest everyone pounces GG.

Giants lost, two in row for Chicago now...

Another great day for Brees, 4 TDs, 0 picks.

I don''t think the TO/McNabb stuff on the sideline looked all that bad.

Yet.

Just be patient. It''s only one loss. Wait until Philly has a stretch of bad games.

Patriots start a new winning streak, fun game with lots of highlights.

And a note to the Rams. Draft some defense guys.

Please...thats so overblown..

Lets face it...there are REASONS people dont like TO..

Him screaming at Garcia during one game is hardly defines his career.

He''s extremely serious about football.. unlike Ricky Williams or others he''s completely into football.. its his life.

He has passion like I would hope anyone would have passion about what they do in life..

I can''t understand why everyone is so eager to see him fail...these guys are all good players..you''ve never heard about any offield antics from anyone on the Eagles..

Its a shame they''re made out to be bad guys..when I can count dozens of other players that seem to get away with murder.

Now lets talk class acts... Roethlisberger - goes deep gets picked - comes back over to the sidelines with a big grin on his face and tells his coach ""Sorry - I got greedy"" now thats a good kid... I hope the Steelers go all the way...

Him screaming at Garcia during one game is hardly defines his career.

That was numerous games.

Scremaing at his coordinater. Blaming others when he has dropped balls when he was at the 49ers. The whole off season Garcia and Baltimore thing. He is an ass and people want asses to fail.

On the other hand, I agree with you, he has a hard work ethic and likes to have fun WHEN things are going his way. We will see what happens if anything goes downhill.

I can''t understand why everyone is so eager to see him fail

Didn''t see anyone slag the Eagles, just their loud mouth receiver. Putting on an Eagles uniform doesn''t make a jackass a sudden class act who''s just ""competitive"" and ""passionate""

no..actually it was one game...he was vocal in the media during the season about being dissapointed in the way the offense was being run...but he didnt scream at anyone multiple times during the game.

So he''s an ass and people want him to fail..

odd...never seen a single post about Randy Moss...Ray Lewis...

hmmm.....

Ok, you caught us, we''re part of a secret league of football fans who want to see the Eagles fail.

And you''re reading WAY too much into commentary over one player. You must be a fan or something

odd...never seen a single post about Randy Moss...Ray Lewis...

This may be true but I have at least heard of instances where Moss did some good things for his team as far as unselfishness goes. Can''t really say anything about Lewis, I just know hes a good defensive player.

This being said, TO is the best WR in football today. But he is an ass no matter how great a WR he is. The signing the autograph TD celebration, posing on the Dallas star (at least he got creamed), whining with the 49ers, calling Garcia gay and don''t let me forget TO.com. This isn''t even the half of it, just the major incidents as I can remember them.

He is an ass, theres no way else to describe him and not use profanity. I like the Eagles, their not my favorite team by any means but I have somewhat followed them ever since the Randall Cunningham days. I think McNabb is an excellent QB. But their WR as great as he is has some personality ''defects''

So he''s an ass and people want him to fail..

odd...never seen a single post about Randy Moss...Ray Lewis...

hmmm.....

Just for the record, all three are asshats. Hell, you can throw Sapp in there too. C''mon, it''s all good that you''re defending your team, but this clown rips down signs and plays with markers. He''s a clown, a media whore, a slut for the camera, and people don''t like him for it. Moss is no better, far worse in fact - drives me crazy his little tantrums and walking to the line when he doesn''t feel motivated. Problem is that when you have people with class on the field, it stands out. Some people get off on the in-your-face crap those clowns pull. I''m not one of them.

And, yes, I like to see people that full of themselves fail. I''ll admit it. Makes me positively gleeful when they get frustrated and start crying.

Quick, somebody blame the Broncos!

Quick, somebody blame the Broncos!

Jake Plummer almost cost me my winning streak, stupid Broncos for jerks.

By itself, no. But his screaming at the Niners offensive coordinater and later at McNabb does.

And you magically know somehow what he said to McNabb?

Despite there being no audio?

What if he was trying to pump him up that whole time...

Telling him to stay positive..etc..

Dont simply be a media sheep.

Welcome to 2004 and the modern NFL.

Larry Fitzgerald (who is a rookie) has been very vocal in the media the last 2 weeks about not getting the ball enough during games and key stretches.

Today he catches a big 4th quarter pass and then an even bigger winning TD.

Strange...didnt see any commentary about that one here.

Steelers... Lets see.. Deuce Staley (who I love and think he''s a great back and plays with incredible desire and heart) ripped Andy Reid and blamed the 3 loses in the NFC title game on the fact that he didnt get the ball enough and the Eagles didnt commit to the run.

Let see...no one complained about that...

So we want the Steelers and Cardinals to fail...because hey they got asshole players who complain about getting the ball and rip coaches!!!

Ok...lets continue..

Keyshawn Johnson.. check! thinks a female reporter should be spanked..

You mentioned Sapp so thats on the list..

Willlis McGahee Female Doggoed about his potential playing time and demanded to be traded or started..

Even the unified Patriots..symbol of new style salary cap football had Ty Law immediatly Female Doggo and complain weeks after a Super Bowl Victory..

On every team there are players that if you simply listen to the media you''ll percieve as assholes or whatever you may want to call them.

Fact is TO is not your typical whiny self indulgent football player...he didnt play at a top college school...he didnt immediatly get branded the next Jerry Rice out of College... he really wasnt that good coming out of College.. he worked at his game and developed into where he is today.

He''s great with the fans... he signs autographs he takes time when he has it..

Does he have antics on the field? yes.. so what? man what happened..I remember in the old days the whole team would celebrate in the endzone.. The Fun Bunch during the Redskins heydays..

Have we become so programmed that we no longer think that a TD celebration is warranted?

I mean.. if you complain about that...what about the Steelers mocking the Eagles?

What about EVERY NFL player it seems these days getting fired up over making a first down.. or making a tackle? in the first quarter??

Doesn''t have to be.

Two words: Jimmy Smith.
Two more: Marvin Harrison.

Say hello to the league''s two most prolific receivers. Not only the most prolific over the last decade of football, but the 35 year old Jimmy Smith is currently 2nd in the NFL in receiving - over big mouth TO, big mouth Moss, big mouth Keyshawn, big mouth Chad Johnson, etc. etc.

Both 100% class acts.

Maybe TO and the rest of them should spent less time whining and stop getting beat by the old man.

Maybe the sports media should stop putting microphones in front of these guys, and start talking to the 35 year old guy that''s showing up all the prima donna kids.

I again throw my vote for class act to Ben Roethlisberger who seems to be a good kid despite having a bear of a name to spell... No there are some good players and media hype or not TO is both an asshat and one of the best players in the game. Fans will be fans and overpaid, whiny, children will be just that.

Well of course there are many expections...its not like every player in the NFL is as concerned with TD celebrations.

Bottom line.. I dont think TO deserves the level of hatred he gets given that his on field play is never questioned and off the field he''s a model citizen and genuine nice guy.

So far everyone on the Eagles says he''s a class act guy that shows up early for practice works hard...prepares for every game like its his own Super Bowl.

I like his attitude...given our miserable performances in the NFC Title games and everyones lackluster attitude I''m not sure sure someone who wont think twice about screaming and trying to get people fired up is such a bad thing.

I guess we''ll see next week how it worked...

GG, saying Owens is a class act and genuine nice guy off the football is going a little too far I think, just read his interviews or his website, it seems he can''t go a couple of weeks without making a personal attack on somebody.

As far as the Hines Ward thing, the Eagles brought that on themselves when Owens started the imitations last week.

GG nobody questions that TO is a great WR, plays with passion, and is not in trouble with the law.

The problem with TO is he runs his mouth and celebrates to the extreeme. A lot of players do this but TO for better or worse gets the most media attention for his antics. So he is going to attract a lot of heat when you get coverage like that. Some people like his stuff, I generally do not like show boating but I did love his Ray Lewis dance, while others do not.

There is a clash in the NFL with being sportsman like and entertainment.

PA is looking really strong this year with the Steelers and Eagles.

-edit-

Yeah in the old days the Skins had the fun bunch but even earlier when you hear people like Sony Jeurgenson talk if players did that crap back then the opposing team would have killed/hurt you.

--edit 2--
TO like him or hate him is good for the business to football. Same is true with Ray Lewis and his stupid ass dance.

I''m not upset about the Steelers mocking us.. I think its fine and it takes some of the seriousness out of the game.. More power to them..

And for the record not a single Eagle was upset about it...

I just read that NFL network miked the sidelines of the Steelers Eagles game for the 1 hour game of the week special on Thursday at 9pm (I believe) so we should have a full account of what exactly went on between McNabb and TO.

We''ll see what people say then.

Will be interesting! I like the ""game of the week"" episodes they do.
