Bush 210
Kerry 199

Swing states:

Florida
George W. Bush (i) Rep 3,457,735 - 52 percent
John F. Kerry Dem 3,158,667 - 47 percent

Ohio
George W. Bush (i) Rep 1,667,673 - 52 percent
John F. Kerry Dem 1,538,370 - 48 percent

I still think Bush is going to lose. He''ll lose Ohio, and get 268 electoral votes.

This must be some sort of reverse psychology.

Pretty amazing some big Bush guys conceded defeat early. It is still very close.

Probably won''t know till we wake up...

237 - 188

That is based on Florida which looks to be Bush. Kerry''s team didn''t object to this projection as well, even though it isn''t final. If Kerry doesn''t get Ohio now, he is gone.

Yup, they''ve got 97% of the precincts in Florida now. CNN is still not calling it, but Bush leads by over 300,000 votes.

If Kerry can...er....carry Ohio and Michigan he still has a shot. We''ll see. Ohio is 64% in with Bush leading by over 100,000 votes so far. Quite possible the remaining 36% could swing the state in Kerry''s favor though.

Just supposing Bush wins, do you think the Dems will be a good sport and not fight this in Court?

CNN called it.

CNN called what?

Florida

Florida.

They didn''t pick up since they say them on the caller ID.

Edit: We really should take this to the IRC channel so its more live.

God I love IRC.

It pretty much boils down to Ohio. If Bush wins Ohio, he is re-elected. If he doesn''t, Kerry wins. There are about 800,000 votes left unaccounted for in Ohio, and Bush has a 130,000 and change vote lead.

Republicans are kicking butt in the Senate though

The Democrats are already talking about the dreaded provisional ballets in Ohio

Fox predicts Ohio for Bush, 3 electoral votes to go

If alaska is the only state that goes for Bush, this goes to the House to decide the election

I wouldn''t worry, Lawyeron, if I were you. MSNBC and perhaps ABC have the call for Bush in Ohio on the tip of their tongues. After that, it''s all over.

Looks like it''s time to start sending congratulations over to our Republican Overlords.

I''m not loving the outcome, but I am glad that this probably won''t be reasonably dragged out over weeks.

Fox had Ohio in the Red but it''s back to uncalled. I have to admit, it looks like Bush is going to take Ohio, but I appreciate the caution.

The news agencies are getting pretty anxious. I''m going to give props to CNN for probably being the most reasonable so far.

CNfreakin''N is the most reasonable. What the hell is going on?

NBC has called Ohio and Alaska. It''s 99% official, George W. Bush has been elected as president.

I hope Bush gets over 50 per cent so we can get past 2000

Bush still has the same 100,000 vote lead he''s had for the last hour with 87% of the votes in.

This is all referring to Ohio of course. All bush has to do is win any of the other states if he gets ohio and it''s done.

Unless of course the above mentioned Alaska is that one state, of course.

This was a long night. Not as exciting as 2000. Oh well, I guess we''ll see how 2008 comes out.

Wow, crazy night. Looked pretty tight in a lot of places. What a battle this year has been.

MSNBC and Fox are both giving Ohio to Bush now, along with Alaska as well. Puts him at 269 and one state away from winning the presidency again. Kerry would have to sweep all the other states (Which he''s currently doing minus maybe one?) to win.

On another note.. even if Kerry does sweep the other states and they tie, the republicans seems to have won the majority of the senate again, which would likely bring Bush back into office anyway.

No, that''d be the House that decides the president. The Senate ironically decides VP. Had they tied it, you could have looked at a Bush/Edwards innaguration in January.

New Mexico is 82% in and favors Bush 52% to Kerry''s 47%

Not that NM can''t swing either way still, it hasn''t been a huge turnout there so far.

My first P&C post. It looks like Bush has taken Ohio and the presidency, maybe even for real this time.

No excuses this time, if Bush actually gets more than 50% of the vote this time you people really want him. Unbelievable.

Kerry won''t concede.
