I feel very good right now.

What exactly did he do that was cheating?
Umpires called Yankees star Alex Rodriguez out for interference after he swatted Boston pitcher Bronson Arroyo''s glove while running out a grounder in Game 6 of the AL championship series. From the Official Baseball Rules:
Rule 2.00.
Interference:
(a) Offensive interference is an act by the team at-bat which interferes with, obstructs, impedes, hinders or confuses any fielder attempting to make a play. If the umpire declares the batter, batter runner, or a runner out for interference, all other runners shall return to the last base that was in the judgment of the umpire, legally touched at the time of the interference, unless otherwise provided by these rules. In the event the batter runner has not reached first base, all runners shall return to the base last occupied at the time of the pitch.

From the MLB Umpire Manual, a casebook that guides their decisions:
Section 6.1 (Offensive Interference):
While contact may occur between a fielder and runner during a tag attempt, a runner is not allowed to use his hands or arms to commit an obviously malicious or unsportsmanlike act such as grabbing, tackling, intentionally slapping at the baseball, punching, kicking, flagrantly using his arms or forearms, etc. to commit an intentional act of interference unrelated to running the bases.
Referring to Martinez, I was talking about yesterday''s game when Pedro beaned several Yankees, but don''t see anyone here championing their cause. Nope, sure don''t. If a Yankee pitcher had done it, they would have been rioting in the streets. Just a little biased they be...
Biased...Just like the announcers for the game on fox. I almost had a heart attack when they agreed with the two calls that were correctly reveresed in the Red Sox favor.
True, Pedro did hit two batters. The first unintentionally and the second..well...yeah.
Bill Mueller got beaned to start off the game tonight. I assume you''re enraged that he did that.
And a Yankee fan calling out a Red Sox fan for being biased....It''s pretty funny. Of course we''re biased...So are you!
Aren''t fans SUPPOSED to be biased?
Oh, and A-Rod will now forever be known as ""The Ball Slapper"".
I can''t believe the Yanks are this ruthless, letting the Boston faithful get excited and then crush their hopes in game 7, just like last year. I am betting the Yanks win by more than 5 runs in game 7.
Whats the story on Schilling...man that guy is nuts... it was basically like pitching on a broken ankle..
Is he going to be able to pitch in the WS?

They sutured his tendon to the skin so it wouldn''t move around like in game one....
Seriously...ballsiest performance I''ve ever seen.
Was it mentioned here before that Schilling is a gamer? Everquest player and big Squad Leader/Advanced Squad Leader Player. Part owner, Multi-Man Publishing.
This is what gaming does for you; gives you guts! and stamina!

Don''t leave out the attempt on Matsui. I had forgotten why I hate Pedro until the multiple beaning attempts.

If Pedro had meant to hit him, he would have. Pedro pitched inside to intimidate Matsui (who was hitting better than god...and god''s a good hitter I hear).
Matsui doesn''t respond well to intimidation, and he was way too comfortable. Trust me, I hate it when Petey beans people intentionally (most of the time) but, I have no problem when he comes close.
Funny, I don''t remember any Yankee fans complaining about Roger Clemens multiple beanings, inside pitching and BAT THROWING.
I am not a Yank or Soxs fan but it was obvious that the umpires got the call right after they all got together.
I generally despise baseball these days and having to have riot police on the field only helps me maintain my belief.
I thought though the last 3 games have been great to watch and Shilling was incrediable even without his tendon issue. Add the tendon in and well I think he was down right phenominal.
#1. Pedro should have been tossed in a few games when he beamed the Yankees, but he wasn''t so lets stop arguing about that.
#2. What Rodriguez did was against the rules.. he should have just plowed through Arroyo and knocked the ball loose that way instead of swatting at it. Good call.
#3. Yankee''s fans really showed the world a good face last night.. throwing out baseballs at the umps after they reverse a call against you. I would expect this from the bleacher crowd at Fenway (and I have been present for lots of shenanigans at Fenway) but not from the Yankee''s fans who have 26 rings in their favor. They looked like spoiled brats last night.
#4. It all does not matter.. as the Red Sox will lose tonight. If you really had to bet your life on tonights game, who would you pick considering 86 years of history?? The Red Sox did their part last night by filling their faithful with hopes and dreams of glory, now it is the Yankee''s job to squash it (And I am NOT a Yankee''s fan). If they do win however all bets are off.. the odds in Vegas on peace in the Middle east, dogs and cats living together, and Cold fusion becoming a reality sometime in the near future with have to be changed drastically.

That was a brush back pitch, he wasn''t trying to hit him.
Do you hate Nolan Ryan, Roger Clemens and Don Drysdale as well? They were infamous for pitching inside and hitting people. That kid from Tampa Kazmir pitches inside and hits people...and he''s going to be awesome. Nasty, nasty stuff. Scares ths Sh*t out of opposing hitters.
But, in all honesty I understand why you hate him and can respect that. Pedro is one of those guys that you love when he''s on your team, but HATE when he is on the other side. Kinda like Paul O''neal with the Yankees. Couldn''t stand him, but Yankee fans adore him.
I''m crapping my pants about tonights game. Is it 8:19 yet?!
You do have to figure that if the Red Sox are ever going to win a Series, it would have to be in some sort of grand cosmic way like this.

Dude, you had me until #4. I''m of the mind that the Yankees have not shown anything like backbone these last three games. It''s like they just expected, after the 19-8 game, that the Red Sox would just fold.
I think there would be lynchings here if the Red Sox did that.
Instead, what has happened is stellar pitching, some lucky (or good) calls, and David Ortiz for offense.
Yankees will have to get something going early tonight against Lowe. Otherwise, its over. They don''t know what to do with Wakefield, they haven''t had much luck against Foulke, and even Leskanic is giving them fits.

#1: maybe warned, but not tossed...unless he did it again after being warned. Then absolutely.
#2: Agreed
#3: It''s easy to be classy when your team wins all the time, but it was interesting to see how the Yankee fans acted in the face of adversary. I remember in 1999 when stuff got thrown on the field at Fenway after a HORRIFICLY bad blown call that did not get reversed and the Yankee players, I think all of them, had a quote in the paper about how unprofessional it was. Fox was killing the Boston fans, yet last night there was no mention of how bad it was at Yankee Stadium, no picture of the batteries, balls, bottles, etc. Instead, Tim ""Yankee fan for life"" McCarver immediately talked about what happened in 1999. He''s a fraud.
#4. God I hope you are wrong. I think most Sox fans will go in expecting the worst, and PRAYING for the best.
and a P.S.
Al Leiter is absolutely refreshing in the booth. He calls it like he sees it.
My favorite announcer is scooter...
Nothing like playing a cartoon for the kids at 1145 at night!!!
Fox should have it''s MLB broadcasting rights taken away.
Whats the story on Schilling...man that guy is nuts... it was basically like pitching on a broken ankle..
He''s just ticked that he didn''t get into the EQ2 beta.
Last night was the first time I tuned in for a game this season. I''m still trying to figure out how in the bottom of the ninth, that walking the lead off runner was the same thing as having him hit a home run.
The announcer kept saying it over and over, but for me, I''ve seen lead off runners stranded on first a lot of times.
Whats the story on Schilling...man that guy is nuts... it was basically like pitching on a broken ankle..
Is he going to be able to pitch in the WS?
Best quote after the game?
I''ve been a christian for seven years and never spoke more with Jesus than tonight.""
Start recruiting for the cult I say.
I think the series is fantastic. Most of my upbringing was in Red Bank and Toms River, NJ so my older brother is a Die-Hard Yankee fan calling his Yankee cap ""a poor man''s toupee"". I don''t really follow baseball just know the basics having learned it from the fanatic in the family and doing a few dozen Front Page Sport leagues using imported players from the baseball stats almanac (have you ever played a 32 team league season that had the best of the best including the Nippon and Negro leagues? I wish I still had the floppies they were on. That draft (and the data entry the previewed it) was insane.
I''m an underdog fan person though and while the Yankees will most likely pull it out I can''t help but hope Boston finally sees a World Series win... provided they can win it if they get there.
#1: maybe warned, but not tossed...unless he did it again after being warned. Then absolutely.
He has done it ALOT, during the regular season and post. I was at the Mussina/Pedro game last year where he pegged Jeter (which was a brushback) and then Soriano (which was NOT a brushback) and it was obvious he was aiming for Soriano. With his history he should be warned every game that if it looks like he is gunning for the players, not obvious brushbacks, he should be gone.

Great point.. but McCarver has always been a fraud so what can you do? I prefer Kay/Kaat (YES network) than Buck/McCarver anyday, Kay at least calls them as he sees them. And if the Yankee''s lose tonight I would love to see the reaction around here (and my prayers go out to Boston Police as it is going to be pandemonium up there).

Agreed on both points, Leiter bring insight to the pitching that you do not usually get (just as Girardi does).
And I want the Sox to win, but after history how can I really put my hopes behind it. I got sucked in last year and after screaming at the television for Little to pull Pedro after the first hit in the 8th I could not take it anymore.. that and being around five Yankee''s fans really drove it into me. But Wakefield gives the Yankee''s fits as they are all dead fastball hitters(Boone''s HR the exception) and I hope that he starts and can give them 7 quality knuckleball innings.. with Mirabelli behind the plate. If they put Varitek up there behind him I am turning the game off.
With his history he should be warned every game that if it looks like he is gunning for the players, not obvious brushbacks, he should be gone.
It''s tough to argue with that. I love the guy, and I make no quams about making excuses for his actions. Guilty as charged, but good point.

I agree about Kay and Kaat. I don''t even mind if they root for their respective teams, just call it as you see it.

How can a Sox fan watch tonight and not expect something brutally bad to happen? At the same time I''m clock watching like I''m in 4th grade waiting to play kick ball at recess...I cannot wait until game time. It''s difficult to explain.
The biggest game in Red Sox history and a combination of Wake and D-Lowe on the mound. BAARRGGHHHH.
If Wake''s got that knuckler going... I mean, Brown looked so incredibly shaky and crappy last time, i''m scared to bejeezus.
I can''t help but think over and over in my head, that if the Yankees lose tonight, they will have pulled one of the biggest chokes in MLB history. Simmons has a good quote about these Yankees in his column today...
5. This isn''t the 1996-1999 Yankees. Only four guys remain from that team. You can only get away with relying on so many Tanyon Sturtze- and Tony Clark-types before it catches up with you. I keep telling myself this.
As my dear friend said in pained exasperation a few days ago, ""You can take Tanyon Sturtze out of Tampa Bay, but you can''t take Tampa Bay out of Tanyon Sturtze.""
Seems like ever since Olerud went down the Yankees have lost something....
I prefer Kay/Kaat (YES network) than Buck/McCarver anyday, Kay at least calls them as he sees them.
I''m more partial to Miller/Morgan on ESPN, myself. Also helps that John Miller is also the Voice of the Giants during the regular season. While local broadcasters tend to have that sort of charm and chemistry that you can''t get out of most national callers, these two seem to have ""it,"" whatever it is.

I don''t think you should lump all Yankee fans in with drunken idiots that could find at any ballpark in the country. I was home babysitting my kids, does that make me a soiled brat?
I was home babysitting my kids, does that make me a soiled brat?
No, but depending on the age of your kids it might make you a soiled dad.
All I can say is this ALCS has been as exciting as any post season matchup I''ve ever watched. To be honest I think I''d be just as happy for the Red Sox to win tonights game as I would for them to win the World Series. My stomach is already tightening up in anticipation of tonights game. If the Sox lose I''m gonna be physically sick!
