Wow! The Yankees just had a new Boston Massacre with a crushing of the Red Sox Nation 19-8. The crazy thing is the Yanks had a nice 6-2 lead early and the Sox came back and tied it 6-6, but then all hell broke loose, and hell was in the form of Matsui and Sheffield. It was a beautiful thing to watch. Now just one game away from the series yet again!
Red Sox have no solution to Matsui... he is killing them... 6 AB''s 5 Runs, 5 RBI, 2 HR took away two possible doubles with fine fielding in left... he''s amazing.
If he has another game like tonight he''s this series MVP for sure.
Boston is totally owned by New York.
They will never have a chance..I''m saying it and I am NOT a Yankee fan.
$$ beats $
$$ beats $
Yeah, but the Red Sox were white hot coming into this series, and the Yankees had their hands full with the twinkies. I am shocked at the way the Yanks have just handed it to the Sox.
They are going crazy in Japan.
Was there ever any doubt? Without something to complain about, Red Sox fans just wouldn''t be Red Sox fans.
I heard somebody say this last night and thought they were kidding.
I heard a pretty amusing comment watching football today where a commentator pulled out a stat and said the Yankees outscored the majority of the NFL teams in today''s games.
Dang, what happened last night?!@?!
Cards and Yanks lose! This isn''t my prediction at all!
so tired.
:D
so tired.
Roger that. Exhausting watching the games, isn''t it?
Boston came back last year and won game 6 in the bronx...
Shoulda won game 7 too.
Do not fret Yankee fans, you will lose tonight in game 6 but win the series. In true Red Sox fashion they will give their fans a glimmer of hope only to have it snatched right out from under them when they lose game 7 in like the 15th inning after Ortiz hits a solo home run to put them on top in the top of the inning. I do not know why Red Sox Nation falls for it year after year after year after year after year....
Perhaps this is how its fated to be... Red Sox become the first team to come back from a 3-0 hole.. they make history and break the curse in one fell swoop!
I''m a believer!!!!!
edit**
of course now your in trouble... as a Philly fan routing for the Red Sox you have our curse now...
In that all of our teams lose in the end.

Wouldn''t surprise me at all. But really, do Sox fans really want to win? What about that big, empty feeling you''re going to get after all the celebration is over?
GO SOX!
The minute the Red Sox win the Series, the Patriots go right into the tank.
Boston doesn''t get enough luck for both.

Being a fan of Cleveland''s sports teams, I have a hard time summoning sympathy.

Buzz, that''s the silliest thing I''ve ever heard.
Nothing would be sweeter than a WS ring and beating the Yankees on the way.
And Cleveland does have more to complain about than Boston fans by the way.

No, its the Bruins and Celtics into the tank this year Legion. Pats and Sox to win! Ok, Pats to win.
Unless Schil does something herculean tonight, I can''t see this going to game 7.
I''m hoping his ankle is still killing him! :hump:
It is, but he''s going to pitch anyway. Martinez is rested, so its no harm, no foul to let him have a shot.
Rest of the Red Sox pitching staff is a little winded, though.

They do want to win, but I do not think that Boston''s Finest do. Quite frankly if the Sox won the world series there are not enough cops in Massachusetts to stop the carnage.. Mateo can vouch for me at what frustration and agony has build up over the past 86 years up there.
Also this is in the Bible as the 2nd sign of the Apocalypse so I don''t know if anyone should be rooting for this..
If they ever won I think I''d have to fly to Boston for the party. That would be a hell of a party.

Here''s what the cops do when the games let out-nothing.
They do nothing. They don''t try to enforce traffic signals, keep people on side walks, nothing. They sit, leaning against their motorcycles, and basically make sure that noone outright kills themselves. That''s about it.
Now if the Red Sox win, the cops have announced that they will not tolerate any shennanigans (its an Irish town, they can get away with saying things like shennanigans), but I doubt they will actually do very much downtown.
They will, however, swoop down on Northeastern like a new donut shop opened, since that was the site of alot of the ""riots"" last major sports franchise win.
They will also cordon off Roxbury and let them burn the place to the ground if the residents so desire.
But that''s about it.
Are you sure that the Red Sox winning is one of the signs? I thought it was the Astros winning!
After the Pats won their superbowls, we had a parade downtown, over 1 million people skipped work and flooded the streets...
If the Sox won, the party would dwarf that by a factor of 10000000000000000000. And I work walking distance from downtown...good times.

That''s true.
Very strage place, Boston is. Where I work, it''s also walking distance to City Hall, and it is not uncommon for people to just leave at 4 to go to the game. Not time off, not vacation, just, ""See ya, I''m going to watch the Red Sox.""
Last couple of days are even worse. I think 1/2 of State Street is out.
What a bizzare town...how can baseball be more popular than Football?
Here we talk about the Eagles year round... the other teams are barely a blip on the radar...

Hold on: Boston has a football team? Philadephia has other sports teams? Why hasn''t ever mentioned this before?
I am completely nauseous after last night. That''s about all I really can think of.
