Who's Picking Up The Sims 2?

I've never played any of the Sims game but for some damn reason I really want this one. I'm trying to hold off and stick to my recently established "no more than 2 games a month" rule though. With there already being about five games I want this month I'm waiting on reviews for everything before I make the purchase.

Anyone plannning to get it?

I think I will, if only for a change of pace.

I already preordered from gogamer.com. $50 after shipping.
I wanted to use EBGames, because they had free 1day shipping, but I didn''t get there before the deal expired.

It''s for the wife. No, really. Well, maybe I''ll just watch while she plays. I know she''ll start in Strangetown because there''s aliens.

I *really* tried to get into the sims games. After spending 20 or so hours with the original game and one expansion, I realized that I was truly missing out on what everyone else was seeing in the game. I wouldn''t say they were 20 of the most boring hours of my life, but certainly not the most intriguing either.

This is a ''cross over'' game. It''s a lot like wearing womens underwear. Yes it''s fun at first, but then unless you''re really into it, you kind of don''t see what everyone so hyped up about. After all the thong does tend to ride a little high and the pantyhose are just plain uncomfortable.

Now the masses, who remain unfettered by things like Rome:TW, UT2k4, Tribes and GC2 will find an amazing amount of time and money to dump into the Sims.

There needs to be dinosaurs, or axe murderers, or something wild like that to break the monotany once in a while to get me interested in a sequel to ""The Sims.""

I am going to. It looks like something fun that I can play with my wife. Anytime I can play games and count it as quality time with my wife makes the purchase a no-brainer. The Sims wasn''t that bad of a game. I expect the Sims 2 to be quite good.

Well I made an attempt to pick up The Sims 2 today. I have it on preorder at EB in the mall. Went over there during my lunch hour to get it and the electricity went out in the entire mall as I was eating lunch prior to stopping in at EB. Of course the first thing that happens in that kind of situation is all the mall stores close right down. Could this be a sign?

I''m now debating whether to try again before going home for the day. The outage also hit my office building and at least one square mile around the mall was without electricity for almost 2 hours.

I''m so going to pick it up... when the price drops.

I want to pick it up but I don''t think I''ll have time to play it. So conflicted ... I might just wait until things settle down and I''ll have more time. Maybe the price will drop by then.

I ordered it for my daughters (although delivery is delayed due to my friend Ivan) but I must confess that I''m looking forward to giving it a try. I love the idea of making movies with your family...

Ordered... for my wife... yeah thats it....

Picked a copy up today. Just bout to install it. I''m playing the ''change of pace'' card too.

Can''t wait to get this. Hopefully, EB will be open tomorrow as Ivan seems to have missed us almost completely!

Well, it''s a week till the good stuff arrives...What''s a guy to do? Have to get that Shiney New Game Smell every once in a while...

I went over after work and picked up my preorder. Created one family and moved them into a house but didn''t get any farther than that since my wireless router arrived and I spent half the nice trying to get a wireless network up and running.

I might get it, my ex-girlfriend and I used to play the original sims all the time, It wasn''t that bad. But with Rome:TW and Dawn of War next week, Sims2 will probably have to wait a bit.
