The lapua is far from the worst, its scope reaches 16x, the SVD is only 10x. The M24 for JO and SVD for rebels have to be the worst rifles.

Clip sizes? If I need that many bullets to kill someone, I''m not doing my job right. For me it''s about scope distance and accuracy - from what I''ve seen, the bolt-action rifles are better at both than the semi-autos.

Bigger clip and more ammo lets a sniper stay in the same area for quite awhile. But I really wouldn''t know since I never snipe.

On a random public server, that might be important, but we have enough sniperhunters and tracers and wedges that if you kill more than 2 or 3 people from a single spot, you had better be moving, cuz we''ve got a bodybag with your name on it. Might take us a while to fill it, but on the GWJ server, an immobile sniper is begging to be gibbed.

That said, I only ever snipe with the SR25. I''m not any good and I only use it for instances where either I''m just F-ing around as a sniper or I just can''t be assed to actually swim over to the spawnsiper''s island. I know where he is, I just need a scope and quick enough firing to give him a serious headache. If I want to ""play"" at sniping and the SR25 isn''t available, I''ll probably either play with the M249 machine gun or go back to medic. Not sure why, it''s just my ""whee, look at me, I''m a sniper!"" gun of choice.

While we''re adjusting things, how about increasing the spawn time so that there is less ""rambo-ing"". The penalty for death is meaningless as you will just pop back into the game in about 5 seconds. With the spawn time as it stands, the first team to capture a spawn objective, keeps the spawn objective - as was admiriably demonstrated last night at Objective ""C"".

One benefit that might emerge is an increase in teamwork and manuever due to the stiffer penalty for getting whacked. Of course one weakness is that games might be over very fast if a team is populated with skilled players (which pretty much counts me out as I proved my suckage again last night).
