For now unless we can get an official CoH voice channel on gwj discord, we can probably use general chat 1 or 2.

There's a request channel feature on the GWJ discord. Goto #requests '@Stanbot letsplay CoH' WIthout the quotes and don't add an extra space after stanbot.

Can someone confirm that the current server build that is being used is or is not built or managed by 4chan?

It is done, there is now a voice channel. I won't be playing again till Friday though, studying for my Statistics final which I take tomorrow night, uggh.

There is a 4chan server up, but it's not one of the Homecoming servers, which are the ones that everyone here is playing on. The Homecoming servers are run by essentially the same people who ran the secret private server for the past 6 or 7 years.

And to be clear, the source code for these servers was not built by 4chan. They're currently using the i25 build from the Homecoming team.

The 4chan team was working on a build of the i24 version that was leaked years ago, but I don't know if they're still trying to get that running or gave up and are going forward with the i25 version now.

The Github download was flagged and quarantined by Avira yesterday when my son downloaded it.

I am @wickbroke. I'm sorry to say that I blew the DFB badge on the "do not kill the minions" part of my first DFB. I'll do better next time!

I still haven't gotten that badge. Every team kills the minions!

That picture of yours really fits the comment!

yah, the first team tried but no healer so we had to kill the minions. Second team didnt even try, just killer everything.

Is there some sort of hint, or did someone just discover that? Either way, I won't do that again. I felt terrible for the rest of the night. I tarnished my first Homecoming group. I am no hero.

You shouldn't worry about it. It's kind of obscure, and I've never seen a team actually get it. They'd need to discuss it beforehand and plan for it. Any PUG is just going to murder everything in that room.

I got it twice with the good group I was with Saturday. They even told everyone ahead of time how to get it. The usual friendly COH player

Sorry guys, haven't made it on the last few days. Hopefully I'll get to the sg base stuff this weekend.

I couldn't find my old base maps and notes but I did find some screenshots at least.

That's why I feel bad. There was something in chat. I read it, but it wasn't exact enough for me. It was "Target the AV only, no AoE". I shoulda known.

Hope to get on and link up with you all. It'll be the first real GWJ grouping I've done since MWO was in it's heyday. ...and before that, I joined GWJ at Age of Conan launch.

There are P2W Field Agents in various places, including inside each tutorial. The one I linked above is the easiest to find if you're out of the tutorial.

As for leveling, most people will start with the Death from Below trial (abbreviated DFB in-game) since it's great XP and gives an SO enhancement on completion. Sewer runs are also popular. People will spam in the LFG channel for these.

I skipped them since I didn't want to level fast -- I just did my contacts' missions to enjoy the story.

I learned the P2W agent also gives out tokens that grant 100% extra xp for an hour, but you gain no influence for that hour. Very handy when leveling alts quickly if you already have a wealthy high level character.

Does anyone have a favorite guide on macros?

Those were added yesterday's patch:

* You can now acquire +25%, +50%, and +100% XP boosters for free from the P2W Vendor (or the Transact 4 Victory vendor in Praetoria).
* These boosters will reduce your inf income by the same amount they boost your XP gain.
* The boosters last for 1 hour of in-game time, but you can acquire up to 8 hours at a time.
* The boosters stop working immediately at level 50 - Veteran Levels must be earned normally.
* The boosters can be deleted from the Powers window (right click > Delete Power).
* Please note that this is an experimental feature, it may be altered or removed without notice.

They previously had boosters but they cost influence, I think something like 1 million inf for an hour.

Not macros, but binds. Sometimes you can string two together and make something like a macro, but it's finicky with any more than 2.

Here's the old guide to binds, still valid.

They're the NPCs that sell all the non-canon items like Ninja sprint and extra attacks to make leveling smoother.

If you're in the hero city, looking at the trainer with the big city hall behind her, there's a P2W agent to your forward left, just around the corner.

AHh, P2W, Pay 2 Win. Found her.

Thanks!

I'm not sure the Death from Below trial is all that beneficial to the game, long term. Since it's repeatable, folks are just using the xp boost and running it til they hit level 22 in a couple of hours. It's rendering many of the low level zones obsolete.

People were doing that with other non-story content too. After the first few times through the story and doing every origin contact once, there wasn't much point to repeating all that unless you liked badges or wanted specific temporary powers.

Spending entirely way too much time on this game now that spring semester is over. Back to work tomorrow though. My sentinel is now level 31 thanks to doing 3 taskforces, 1 DFB and some missions this weekend. I have done the 2 Positron and 1 Synapse TFs.

My first MMO, and my favourite.

Same

I started on the base but I can't remember how to hook up teleporters. Going to have to check a guide.

I got the power and control setup so things can be used, I just can't remember all the things right now. Bah.

EDIT: I think I fixed it. Gotta sleep now.

That sounds way more complicated than it should be.
