Game you've been meaning to get around to playing

I always have a game that I just mean to get around to, but that kind of languishes at the back of the 'to play' queue. I have the game - often in its original packaging - and I keep thinking 'man, I got to get to playing that'. It's 50/50 whether I ever actually do. Right now that game for me is Beyond Good and Evil. It's just sitting waiting for some love.

What game have you been meaning to get around to playing?

I went looking for BG&E at Blockbuster just the other day, but they didn''t have it. Going to be pulling the wisdom teeth in a couple of weeks and thought it''d be a great game to play while I''m recovering.

Also, AvP2 has been sitting on the backburner for quite some time

Right now that game for me is Beyond Good and Evil.

Play it now!!!! It is one of those games where you quit worrying about graphics and other things, and just have a good time playing it.

Via email I answered a Blizzard survey (it was mainly asking about whether I''d use a Blizzard credit card) and though it said I could win money and prizes I didn''t think much of it. Then a month later I get another email saying I have won and to pick a Vivendi game. I chose Chronicles of Riddick for the Xbox. I keep meaning to play it.

I''ve got an assload of them:

Undying - when I got it I was still running a Celeron 433 and a Voodoo 3 2000...needless to say, it barely ran. I upgraded in July of ''03, and I keep meaning to coming back to it, but I keep getting distracted...

Neverwinter Nights - I''m a sucker for a game with huge amounts of good quality fan-created material. Unfortunately, I still haven''t gotten around to installing this one.

Freedom Fighters - It was used at EB for $7.99...I couldn''t not buy it! Just started on this when I got Far Cry. Doh!

Freedom Force - Still waiting patiently on my hard drive. Got distracted by Max Payne 2.

System Shock 2 - This scared the bejeezus out of me. I got a few hours into it on my old system, haven''t gotten around to installing it on the new one.

Chronicles of Riddick - I love it, but it is FAR too violent and profane to play in the living room with my 1-year-old daughter around. I am waiting for my X2VGA+ to come in the mail so I can hide out in my studio in the back of the house and murder imaginary people in peace.

I guess right now its AVP2, Icewind Dale 2 (I bought both on clearance in December and I still haven''t installed either) and Planescape Torment (picked it up at Best Buy last week)

Game to finish: Thief 2. If nothing else, I will one day finish Thief 2. Dammit!

Game to start: Planescape: Torment. I don''t think I''ve ever heard anything but good about this. I''ll get around to it one of these years.

Morrowind
Kotor
NWN

Planescape Torment for me.
Been meaning to get to it for a while now.

Planescape: I saw this one on the used rack @ EBGames for 4 bucks. I assume I should get it?

Yeah, I''ve always wanted to get Planetscape. I keep meaning to finish Crimson Skies'' single player as well, but never get around to it.

Baldurs Gate 2, Freelancer, and Knights of the Old Republic. Not in that order. BG2 will probably never be finished.

Planescape: I saw this one on the used rack @ EBGames for 4 bucks. I assume I should get it?

Even if it were still 50 dollars you should still buy it.

Railroad Tychoon 3

Games to finish: Too many to mention, Planescape Torment being in there for sure.

Game to start: KOTOR (hopefully I''ll get it Friday with my DOOM 3 purchase.)

Got a few. Can''t seem to fit Ground Control 2 in. Also Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne, Age of Wonders Shadow Magic, and Freedom Force.

Geeze. I have soooo many. To name a few: KOTOR, M: TW, MW, Silent Storm 2, Dominions 2, War!; Civ III (just one game please!), Far Cry, Hidden and Dangerous, Strategic Command,
Airborne Assault etc., etc. etc. It''s a lost cause (or rather my
addiction is

Baldur''s Gate II, which I may never finish, and Beyond Good & Evil.

Joint Operations is the only one I''ve been looking at, but I get the feeling that by the time I get to buying it, it''ll be yesterday''s news.

Silent Storm - I really, really want to finish this one
Railroad Tycoon 3
Warlords 4 & Warlords Battlecry III
Warcraft 3
Icewind Dale 2
The latest Civ3 Expansion (Supposedly it really improved things)

Unreal Tournament 2k4 and Rise of Nations - You guys make them sound like so much fun..and with the games I have now I spend so much idle time just staring blankly at the icons on my desktop giving myself reasons why I hate ""X"" game and don''t want to play it.

I am just having a hard time coming to grip with the fact that I never played Warcraft 3. The voices are oddly silent on this one. Maybe my meds are working after all.

Warcraft III. I bought it on release day, played part way through the tutorial, then set it aside meaning to come back to it later. That later somehow just keeps getting later. Beyond Good and Evil is another one. I''ll eventually get to it, but right now it''s looking like a 2005 endeavor.

Warcraft III left me cold. To me, it had none of the spirit that Warcraft II did. I think the move to 3D hurt it.

Sacred for me. Bought it the week iot came out and haven''t done anything more than install it.

I also keep meaning to get back to Wind Waker. Played through the first couple of dungeons, and got distracted by something else and just never made my way back.

I found a copy of Wheel of Time (yeah its damn old) that wasn''t opened... had a $7 EB bargain bin sticker on it. I installed it last weekend and played for all of 30 seconds when my son woke up and wanted to play blocks. So someday I''ll get to playing it On the bright side 4 year old+ games look great on a modern PC

Xenosaga. I just don''t think I''ll ever finish it. I get distracted, and by the time I return, I don''t even remember what the hell was going on.

Felt the same way when it came out. Saw a bargain sticker on it couple of months ago and picked it up a, thinking I''d give it a shot. SP campaign was ""meh"", but the expansion SP has been much better. Multiplayer, however, has been an absolute blast

I''ve been meaning to finish Morrowind, but I tried out Soldier of Fortune 2 and stoped playing Morrowind. But now I stoped playing SoF for Galactic Civlizations witch I picked up recently.

I can''t seem to get around to playing Jagged Alliance 2 or Prisoner of War. Damn you Galactic Civilizations! I fear these games will get further deglected when I buy Doom 3.

I finally found my old Torment CD''s and reinstalled it last night. It will take awhile to get back to where I was all those years ago when my PC died, but the game is still pretty good.

I''m also working on Disgaea and I finally got my RoN expansion in the mail today. It''s a good thing I''m on vacation.

As an aside -- and not meant as a rebuke -- I tried P: Torment, and just couldn''t get into it.

I''d like to try some multiplayer Railroad Tycoon III. What a dream it would be if we could get a bi-weekly game of RT3 going (similar to our semi-weekly RoN games). Any takers? [Is the multiplayer any good? I''ve yet to have the opportunity to try it.]
