A purchasing conundrum.

So, it comes down to, I want Doom3. My machine may not be able to run it, but, screw that, I'm getting Doom3.

The conundrum is this:
I need to be able to buy it via PayPal over the internet. While I might have enough money on my debit card, I don't want to chance it.
It must be shippable to Canada.
It must come with the pinky demon that EB has on their site as a pre-order bonus.

Are my demands unreasoanble? Is my valiant quest for naught?

Im sure you could buy the parts online and then just pre-order it to get the demon. Or get someone in the states to buy the parts for you and then just forward them to you. That way you can use PayPal. Maybe try eBay.

What are your system specs? I think a lot of people get a little crazy, thinking if they don''t have an FX-53 with 2 gigs of RAM and a 6800GT ULTRA, they can''t run the game. It will scale - and with the emphasis on single player (thank god), you''ll probably be fine with 30 FPS.

I agree with the eBay suggestion... you can find just about anything there. Amazon sometimes has surprises as well.

My machine is getting a bit long in the tooth, sadly. It plays what I throw at it, but I haven''t thrown anything really -new- at it lately (save Splinter Cell, and even that is a bit older)

AMD AthlonXP 1800+
512mb PC2100 DDR
Radeon 9000Pro 64mb graphics
cheesy onboard sound
and a cheesy SiS-735 based motherboard.

Not exactly a paragon of gaming prowess.

With the scaling ability of the engine I think your only long pole in the tent is your video card... I dont think you''ll have any problem finding the little doo dad figurine either.... There is another long posting that talks over min specs for the game as well.
