14 Day SWG Trial for Fileplanet SUSCRIBERS

I noticed on EA's site that Fileplanet is offering a 14-day trial (no credit card info needed) to Fileplanet and Founder's Club suscribers for Star Wars Galaxies.

It's a 1.8 GB download, mine just finished. I'll wait a bit until installing it.

How is the game for newbies?

Edit - Helps if I put the game name in the post, eh?

I also was told at E3 that if this is successful they''ll do the same for Jump to Lightspeed, which is what I''m really hoping they''ll do. You can also get a 7 day free trial if your friend owns the game. I didn''t know this was for Fileplanet subscribers though, I hate their subscription crap simply because they try to do fileplanet exclusive demos and betas.

I don''t get why that is bad? It''s a way to provide something for the money you spend to subscribe to the service.

It boils down to the fact that those of us too cheap to subscribe hate it when we can''t get the demos and betas. Waaaa us

I wish fileshack had promotions. Their price is great but no sweet deals.

I dislike downloading fileplanet do the fake ''waiting list'' times. It says 20 mins and you wait an hour.

I always use www.filefront.com for my downloads. Can''t beat it!

It''s the same reason shutting down adcritic.com was stupid. The whole point of a demo is advertising and allowing customers to try before you buy. The whole point of a beta is to find bugs. How does limiting either activity to fileplanet subscribers make any sense? Oh wait, it doesn''t. At all. What does make sense? Gamespy paying developers to do stupid things and paying publishers to force developers to do stupid things. When I pay DirecTV for my local channels, does that mean we should shut down all over-the-air broadcasters? After all, it''s a way to provide something for the money I spend to subscribe to the service. Except that I''d get it anyway, and other people would too, increasing the station''s ad revenue. The only thing limiting demos and betas gives anyone is a feeling of superiority to the fileplanet subscriber and more subscriptions for Gamespy. For developers and publishers it doesn''t make any sense, they''re just too short sighted to realize it.

I''m a subscriber to Fileplanet and love it. I usually get game movies and demos there and the download speeds are great. It''s worth $6 a month to me.

Fileshack is better.

How is Fileshack better? They can''t have a bigger selection...

Why can''t they simpilot? Is there some rule why they can''t? Their selection is rather nice.
