Canada dumps duties on pizza

I came across this story on CNN.com
http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/americ...

Is this a candidate for the most uninteresting story in history? I really just posted this for the subject. Hehe. Duties.

MAN! Canada plays hardball!

MAN! Canada plays hardball!

You know we do! Except up here we call it ""knocking the stone out of another persons coloured circle.""

Quite an interesting story. Wasn''t there a thread here a while back about people''s favourite frozen pizzas? How many imported pizzas do you think are eaten in Canada a day? Several million?

Do you think McCain are afraid that American companies (presumably Kraft) are running something like loss-leaders to gain market share? I don''t think it would be a loss-leader, just because of the profit made on the product, but it''s certainly an aggressive business tactic.

I don''t know what the big deal... Excessive pizza consumption always leaded to Dumping Err wait NM

McCain = Family run business

Kraft = Uber-company

Us Canucks will always take the underdog especially if they are Canadian, just don''t ask for any softwood on your ''za

mmm pine pizza pie.

McCain''s is no underdog. They''re one of the biggest companies in Canada. And their pizza tastes like butt.
And as a Canadian I''m embarassed by this. It just shows our foreign minister is an idiot and how laughably stupid our foreign policy is these days. Where was he while thousands of people on Vancouver Island lost their jobs because of the softwood duties? Our mills are still closed and entire communities have turned into ghost towns because of the duties. We''ve been through a few foreign ministers on this issue and none of them have done any good.
But boy howdy, when the company that makes the worst-tasting pizza in Canada feels threatened, we take action! That''ll show you Americans and your evil pizza empire.
