LOL! ""Target Frame Rate of 12fps!""

Too funny!

Oh Lord... Imagine jumping out of the time machine and showing Far Cry to good ol'' Warren right after this interview...

no no...imagine System Shock with the Crytek engine!!

I really like the projected price!

I''ve still got a number of mags from 1989-97. Great read nowadays, too bad I can''t really share the fun since it''s German stuff...

""Origin''s track record makes any release from the company worth checking out""

*sigh*

Hehehe - no kidding! I saw an advertisement for the ""Dark Suns"" game on the last page of an old book advertising a $79 price tag the other day. Were games really that expensive back then? I don''t remember them being so - maybe they were automatically discounted about $30 at retail?

I still have the PC gamer where they preview Ultima IX and hail it as the 2nd coming, with extensive interviews from Richard Toto Garriot and some UO tidbits thrown in.

I actually still get excited when I read it, even tho I know what happened

I had about 5 years of PC Gamer, some gaming magazines from the 80''s and various PC World mags in a big collection at home, I think they got threw out when I moved away.

I''ve had PC Gamer since 98. The one that came in yesterday shows the first playtest of HL2.

I love reading about my hobby so I have virtually every PC gaming mag since around 1991 or so. That equals every issue of PC Gamer, CGW since 1991, PC Accelerator (dead), PC Entertainment (dead), Computer Game Review (dead), etc. I had to buy a storage shed to hold them all. Of course they are organized chronologically. I''m a sick man...

But one day you''ll find EBay and become a millionaire.

Wow, Computer Game Review? Weren''t they really good and serious, or am I confusing them with CGW?

CGR had small 1 paragragh reviews by 3 different people. It actually worked okay but they were not in depth for obvious reasons. They died around 1995 or so.

Hmmm, I''m pretty well limited to late 80''s to early nineties Nintendo Power. That''s what I was into then was the NES. That glorious thing loved me too. Damn it.

For those who never got a chance to read it, PC Accelerator was great. It was irreverent, honest, and spent as much time poking fun at awful games as it did pointing out great ones. Their awards for special lack of achievement in games were pee-your-pants funny. Naturally, advertisers hated it, and it died quickly.
