UT tonight or something else?

So we need to get something official going for tonight? Whats should we play UT or maybe something I haven't thought of; wait I'm so confused.

I think I will be practicing my Raven Shield by trying to get further along in singleplayer.

I also just fired up Jumpgate for the first time. I have no idea on the controls!

Yeah I didn''t suggest RS because thats tomorrow night.

i''m game for some UT tonight. of course i am terrible but i am willing to let you guys get some target practice in

I will be lurking...

I''ll be doing the JG thing

Man, you guys need to open up your Xfire, and IM me. I would have stopped all the Diablo2/WC3 stuff for some online carnage!

I noticed a lot of people on Xfire but they are not playing anything it looks like.

The only way to tell is if they launched the game via Xfire. if they didn''t, then you won''t know what they are up to.

I tend to keep Xfire open, and unless its like 3AM, I''m more or less game for a game.

Are you sure? I can see when Certis is playing Raven Shield singleplayer. If that is how it works then they need to change it to refresh to show what game you started.

The launch function just launches the .exe. From there, you can choose the single player or multiplayer from the ingame menu.

It will show the game on the chat screen, and if you are on a particular server, it will show that info as well.

I''m not sure about the refresh....if I''ve launched the game outside of Xfire, and its on Xfire''s installed list, do I really want a bot monitoring my game usage? Or are you thinking something else?

I was thinking this:

I decide to play Battlefield Vietnam so I launch it singleplayer. Then I go to the in-game menu and look for a multiplayer game. I find a low ping game and join it. Meanwhile back on my Xfire profile it refreshes showing I had joined a game and you guys could see I was on there and join me. It doesn''t work that way?

Yes, that''s my understanding. If I launch UT, play the ladder single player for a while, and then go over to WSA for a royal beating by DM and crew, the info will refresh in the Xfire window.

Otherwise, it wouldn''t be all that useful, would it?

Ok, just making sure. My main comment was just referring to how many people are on Xfire playing nothing at night. I have about 15 names on my list without anyone playing anything. I only launch Xfire if I am going to join a GWJ game or go looking for one. Other than that, I keep it turned off.

I go ahead and leave it running at other times as well in case I''m indifferent and someone wants to message me for a game.

I leave it running even when I am not playing a game. It has replaced MSMessenger for me. Just to be clear you do not have to LAUNCH a game using X-Fire for others to see that you are playing it, as far as I know, it does not matter how you start, X-Fire just updates.

I leave Xfire on all the time. If I start playing in a multiplayer game, it usually doesn''t take very long for someone else to drop in. Teaming up with you GWJs, using TS, on some random server is great fun.

Especially when we get on the same team using TS and grab a flak tank.

Exactly. Ahh the memories.

We need to pick another night to go hunt down a random server to dominate on.

Friday then.

Not sure I can make it Friday.

Pick a weekend day. Since your east coast, it''s not easy meeting up during the week.

Could you make a 10EST game during the week or is that too early?

Most of the time that would work fine.

Ok. Well I am thinking Sunday nights would work typically but not sure about this Sunday because my future in-laws will be in town.

Sunday would be good. I''ll look for you on Xfire. My Xfire will be on to. Alien13z, Minase, Bagga, Swampy and Robear have been on alot lately as well.

I''ll be on right after Chapelle''s show Sunday night.
