Motherboard advice?

I'll be getting a new MB soon, and as I haven't kept up with the latest on them, I could use some suggestions.
Should I be considering PCI express, or even a 64 bit processor?

Waiting is an option as well. My AMD 2600 is adequate, but I have to kickstart the fan on my chipset half the time.

Heat isn't much of an issue. Big case and fans aplenty. Plus a manly power supply. ATI 9700 pro video card, which I hear work better with AMD. Waiting to see what ATI puts up for next gen before I upgrade that.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks.

I looked on pricewatch just a few days ago, and I don''t think you can get PCI express yet.

I have PCI-Express on my G5.

I know, being a jerk, but how many times can a Mac guy throw it back at the PC crowd?

I''m sure it makes Warcraft III extra special.

And UT2k4 and Raven Shield!

Actually, nah. My PC is still way better for games. No argument there.

Why don''t you just take out that chipset fan? Leave the heatsink on the chip mind you just remove the fan or replace it.

I would probably be more envious if there was anything yet out that needs or uses it.

I will admit that years ago when Macs used SCSI instead of IDE that was a real advantage. I have no idea why they dropped it.
