Ok, let me attempt to explain again. Boortz is not saying getting money back is stupid. He is not commenting on whether or not you managed to work it out where you didn''t get a refund or not. He is saying people who say that they don''t pay income tax just because they don''t owe any at the end of the year are totally clueless. Even getting $2700 back this year, we still ended up paying several thousand dollars in taxes- we just got it nickeled-and-dimed every paycheck.

I couldn''t tell you off hand how much I actually paid. I suspect that state, medicare, and social security combined were probably larger than the main federal tax.
