how did you find out about GWJ?

Pages

I was looking up reviews on ninja gaiden around mid march and saw Certis and Elysium's review of it. The site title and subject matter was right up my alley. However, I didn't really registered until I read sway's terrifying find on his attic which totally got my attention.

Great community and site. Jadawan said it best, "The ability to play MP games with mature individuals who are typically right around my skill level has been one of the greatest things about finding GWJ."

I''ve found this site thru duckandcover, they did a peice about Sway''s comic about Interplay''s firing of BlackIsle. I''ve read some of the forum and thought it to be a great community, so I joined up.

I think I first stumbled in when they got /.ed after the HL2 leak fiasco. I bookmarked it but didn''t start visitng regularly for a while after...

I was lulled in with the promise of women and booze.

I am still waiting....uh, what''s that honey? Just talking on GWJ. Yeah, Ninja Gaiden kicked my butt.

All right she''s gone....I am still waiting on the women and booze. Gotta go. 8)

I work at the same place as Flux. He''s gotten about 5 of us into the site now.

Blue''s News.

Am I the only one who has followed Certis since he had his own website and pretended he was a l33t gamer?

And then him and Elysium popped up on EvilAvatar and then left and I followed.

What else could I do? Certis has my puppy in chains.

I followed Elysium and Certis over the day they went live. One wonders what would have happened had I not come over. I know certain people wouldn''t have appropriated a little comedy bit of mine...

I followed em from EA. To be honest, I never really remembered much about them from EA. EA just started boring me and they showed up and said ""Hey, we''re gonna be like the good EA"" and I believed them for some reason. I am such a sucker.

Uhhhh...

How the hell did I find this site?

*thinks*

Uhhhh...

Followed from EA as well, which implies somehow that I was a follower craving something to follow. I think the fact that I had nothing to do that day is more likely the cause.

I guess I saw something on Evilavatar (can''t really remember) about a site starting and I was here from day one. Best site I have ever been on.

I came from EvilAvatar.

The evil Gamespy Daily News linked me to the Project Gothem 2 review. I guess they were good for something after all.

I''ve never operated a website before Evil Avatar. Never! Altered Worlds and Sovereign Nation don''t count

Gamespy good for something? Thats madness.

I was a fairly heavy poster on EA when Ely and Certis started GWJ. I saw some great articles but wondered why there was a lack of discussion. Ely elbowed me and told me the registered forums were where all the conversation was at. So, duh!, I signed up and never looked back. Its a big difference getting like posts in a thread on the front page and getting 20-50 posts in the forums. 20-50 posts in a thread may not seem like much but 20-50 articulated and thought provoking posts with reasonably calm and respectful arguments is a whole nother ball of wax. As we all know, there are other sites that get 100''s of posts in a single thread with a quarter saying ""first"" another quarter saying either ""pwn3d"" or not ""pwn3d"" and the rest saying (M$, matrix, apple, nintendo, sony, eq, Intel, amd, ati, etc) is t3h suxx0r!

I actually remember certis from Altered Worlds, but Flux is the one who got me posting over here.

Evil Avatar Convert.

I was the one that came here and posted my then malcontent about Certis leaving Evil and not posting any kind of gratitude from his time there.

Yes I was harsh and too quick to judge... but I''m ok now.. really

I usually visit this site 5-8 times a day while I might hit EA once. Hate to say it but EA has rather gone downhill IMHO since this site came to be.

Oh please. ""Humpers Anonymous"" ring a bell, Certis? Or should I call you... Mr. Humpy Hump Hump?!?

Seriously, I seem to remember you were a poster somewhere before Evil Avatar.

My brother is co-founder (AKA Certis''s lackey.)

Was that before or after he met hoochie?

Don''t let that be a major standard for you. I was a poster at EA.

One Star Trek related story every two months

Several months ago someone at another gaming website posted a link to GWJ. I checked it out, liked what I saw, and lurked for quite some time before signing up.

asands2: ""Location: Spring Green, Wisconsin"" ---- that little piece of information caught my eye. I grew up in Wisconsin 25-30 miles due west of where you are. Weird!

Evil avatar convert.
I never posted there... always read the article and ran away from the community.
Feels like home here. People with intelligant discussions and none of the smacktards

My primary news site was always Evil Avatar, but after Certis and Elysium left the site I couldn''t bear to read the drivel that their replacements wrote. After I came home from my extended business trip last year, I migrated here for the occasional articles, and I eventually realized that the forums were actually full of intelligent adults.

Mostly bad ones, and those were only non-gaming stories. My gaming stories came about once...every couple of days, which is more than I can say about somebody''s output around here.

Now Ratty, we''re all about quality here, not quantity. Well... we''re not about quantity anyways. I guess we''re really about laziness.

I was thinking that I must have followed a link to an article from some other gaming site, but when I was digging through the archives trying to figure out which article it was, I jogged my memory. I had actually been googling for Return of the King paraphenalia and got a hit to this post, and then bookmarked the site because of the interesting domain name. I didn''t actually register and become a regular visitor for a couple more months.

Ding ding ding ding!

Well, when the website''s biggest event of the year is when everyone''s avatar is turned into a zombie for 24 hours...

I always liked Elysium''s articles over at EA, so I decided to check out his new site when he announced it.
