All of that ''once a Marine, always a Marine'' crap is for brainwashed jarheads. I had a fun time (some of the time) but in our current war-happy atmosphere I''m happy as hell to be getting out before they send me to some other hellhole (or even back to the same one again).

I feel ya completely on that one, Sanjuro!

Mex, I think we should contract with your family''s firm to develop and produce special GWJ uniforms, preferably jumpsuits, that we can all wear around. I am an XLT.

Actually, I''m way ahead of you. I''ve already designed our ""power uniform"" that should be discreet, yet instantly recognizable.

That''s Pyroman posing BTW. I wanted something that was arty, yet you could take to a gym or an office meeting. I think we''ve succeeded.

Woo! Maybe it''s Pyro, but that''s one hot looking uniform. I''m gonna use it CoH!

Man, I dont feel so goo after looking at that picture.
Im Operations Manager for Dejar Interntional based out of NZ. In my spare time I organise snowboarding contests and the like.

My turn ons are long walks on the baech and. . .... . .opps *cough*, not that kind of thread.

What gender is that person supposed to be? It has the gut and bicep of a man, but the face and garb of a woman. Is it a sinister new breed of kelet, perhaps a doppelkelet?

I work for an engineering firm in downtown chicago, mainly designing and building telecom infrastructure. lots o'' fiber.

so though i am not a programmer, i still do my part to make all your multiplayer dreams come true.

There appears to be a fair amount of thoracic follicle activity there too. Thanks Mex. Now I have something new to have nightmares about.

Ok so here is what I need.

Marlin- I need you to get me a wireless plan where I magically don''t have pay anything for my minutes.

Evilroy- I need you to plan for a backbone to the net to run through my back yard, with a mysterious hook up that runs into my house.

Chop, chop! I don''t have all day!

I''m currently masquerading as a professional Instructional Designer and Technical Writer. At the moment, and for the next couple of months or so, I''m on contract as an e-learning developer with a *major* telecommunications company.

In previous decades I have been paid to be a Corporate Controller and a Wildlife Management Teaching Assistant, among other things.

Lawyer.

Mwuahahaha.

We attract lawyers to this site like bugs to flypaper. I''m going to law school in a couple of years, any recommendations? Anybody heard anything good about any law schools in the Southern California area in particular?

How much money do you have and do you have any lawyers in your family? Never underestimate the Alumni Advantage. Have you taken the LSAT yet?

man, this board has clear...technical majority.

I myself am TV director by education and did some time in the mincer, but last year have gone into 2D art, freelancing for small game companies.

I am in my final year of highschool and with any luck will be going to UBC (University of British Columbia) next year. Plan on doing something with History, not sure what though.

Well once you have your degree and you look back at all those years you studied (pun intended) you''ll probably be saying the same thing.

Me, I''m a graduate student doing an MSc. in computer science. Network file systems and wireless networks and all that jazz.

After 6 years in college (including the undergrad) I''m ready to kill to get out of here. So if anyone knows of a job (in europe) for someone with no practical experience, a poor undergrad and (possibly) a murderous past just drop me a line.

Emigrate, Eoin!

Well I only specified ""in Europe"" cos I thought that jobs were scarce over there in A-MER-A-KAH and the last thing most firms would need is another spud eating, stout drinking, Paddy O''Coder.

Content chap on multinational''s website.

By the way, all I have to say to those of you who have worked with Plumtree: I feel your pain. 3 years of experience managing a team that maintains a Plumtree environment. Soon to be replaced! Yeay!

Gaald,

this is actually quite easy to do yourself,

here is what you will need:

Approx 800 feet of 864 count fiber optic cable = $8.00 USD/ft
Alcoa Fujikura Mass-Fusion Spicer = $25,000 USD
Directional Boring Rig = $20,000-$60,000 USD depending on condition
Approx 200 feet of 1-4 HDPE Poly-Pipe = $1.50 USD/ft

Unheard of speed from your house to your ISP = Priceless
Slowdown due to ISP Bottleneck = Even more priceless
