I know I'm late to the game but I haven't seen a topic about this. Considering that we're gamers with jobs, what do you do for a living? We all need money to feed our gaming activities somehow right?

That brings to mind two jokes:

#1-So, you don''t have much free time, then?

#2-Yeah, a gigolo with a client of one-one hand that is.

Thank you, I''ll be here all week.

Software Engineer in the CD/DVD recording/editing sector. Currently using C#,Delphi, C++. My private projects are more web related with PHP and ASP(.NET) which I also had to use in my former job and yes VB(S) is a pain in the arse, I had to use it while building an automated test tool with Visual Test. I hope I never have to deal with that mess again.

I hope to get a foot in gaming development sometimes in the near future.

Toyota Pickup Surfing Instructor.

Network security is my field and we base everything off linux. Next major release will be on Windoze so it will be interesting trying to port our stuff to it. (Winpcap seems to outperform pcap by quite a good margin).

C
Perl (yuk)
Java (UI is based on STRUTS)
all the unix/linux shells
and xml for configs/builds (mainly ANT... pretty cool)

Would really love to break into the game industry. Have so many game programming books at home but with a family and a 55+ hour/week job I never seem to finish the first chapters
