besides gaming, what other fun activities do you do?

Paintball / playing with the Dogger Dogger

Funny how many gamers go for weightlifting. Why do you guys do it?

So I can heft my massive dong, of course!

Ah, another net benefit to being a gamer... active imagination.

Brew beer, yard/house/car maintenance, wedding prep, dogs, bbq and coke&whores.

What got me about it wasn''t so much the wierd people, but rather that many of the ""facts"" of science are pretty well just educated guesses.

p.s. if anyone even mentions creationism vs. evolution I''ll beat them...

Movies. Karate. Drinking. More movies and booze.

That''s about it, really.

EDIT: Well, except for my anime obsession. (BIG! STOMPY! ROBOTS!)

Certis is correct. I am la femme, and quite a crazy one at that.

For Sanjuro, water gardening is the thrill of wading around in a cold murky pond each spring repotting and fertilizing water lillies and various other aquatic plants. The results of my work can be seen
here...

Wow, didn''t expect to see another ponder on these boards. Nice pond, too. I keep meaning to make a website of my pond someday. Damn ISP doesn''t give me any webspace.

Slambie, you have a very groovy hobby.

What''s Car Polo? Does it mix well with your other hobby, drinking? 8)

You need webspace with some actual space so you can get those pics online. It''d be cool to see what you''ve done with your pond.

Playing a lot of guitar lately. But when not playing I''ve spent the last few weeks trying to find a way to talk myself out of buying this.

I''m losing this battle bad. It''s beginning to haunt my sleeping hours.

Looks like a Les Paul studio with weird cutaways. What do they want for that thing?

Damn, I''m drooling over that one, Drunkagain! Give in and get it already!

I''ve been playing a lot lately, but mostly on my acoustic. But as I just picked up a few vintage pedals on Ebay, I''m sure that''s gonna change soon!

It''s a Paul Reed Smith Cu22 with the limited edition Brazilian rosewood neck. It would knock a hole in my savings account in the neighborhood of $2700.

Heres a close-up shot of the neck.

Holy christ in heaven. Still, go for it if you''ve got the scratch, man. I saved up money for about a year when I was in high school to buy a $1300 Ovation Balladeer, and I''ve never regretted it. I don''t play half as much as I used to, but I still treasure that guitar.

Those bird inlays on the neck are the hotness.

Hello. I''m new to this site.

To be perfectly honest, I''m quite a prankster. I''m also quite a spaz. In fact, the main reason I play games is because they have a sedating effect on me when I''m winning. When I lose, I revert to my other hobby, that of smashing keyboards.

As far as physical activities, I don''t get out of my cave much. I occasionally go on a weight training binge, but usually quit when work (or my newest game addiction) gets in the way. I do a lot of dating as well.

I''d say my main hobby right now is teaching myself to design levels in games, and keeping up on the latest graphics software. And drinking coffee. Caffeine and game design go hand in hand.

I''d say got for it IF YA GOT THE AMP TO HOOK IT UP TO. Nothing worse than a great axe plugged into mediocre electronics.

If you have something good with tubes in it, go ahead and get it. Otherwise, your are better off with a lesser guitar and a kick ass amp.

YA, SO GET AT LEAST A CRATE GX-10 BECUASE THOSE THINGS FUGGIN'' RAWK!!!1

Anyway, I say go for the PRS if you have the bones. Hell, I don''t even own an amp anymore, I normally noodle (when I do noodle which is oh so infrequent) without anything at all, ''cept maybe my ART SGX2000 Express through headphones. I''m imagining the feel of that neck right now :D.

I amend my earlier statement; this forum is all lawyers, programmers and guitar players.

Drummer, here. When''s the first first GWJ session?

Yeah, I''ve got an amp I''m pretty happy with. It''s not the Bogner Shiva I''d like to own and it''s not something that I''d want to use in a band situation but for a home practice amp it''s perfect.

The thing about tube amps is you really want to be able to turn them up to get the most out of them, and living in the city like I do now makes that kind of tough. When I finally buy a home you can be sure it''ll be on enough property that I don''t have to worry about it and then I''ll go after that Shiva I''ve been jonesing for.

For now I''m running through a Vox Valvetronix AD120VT modeling amp that gives a heck of a lot for the money. I''ve really been thrilled with it for a home practice amp.

I know what you mean. Just looking at that wood gives me wood!

I so lucked out. I work in the Fine Arts Department and we renovated some music practice rooms to make them into offices. Guess who walked out with badass soundproofing panels? I didn''t get enough to completely cover all the walls in the extra bedroom, but pretty close. We play till about 2 to 3 am on Friday nights and loud. Not one cop at our door yet. My neighbors are cool, but it''s mostly because the sound panels really dampen the sound.

You could probably buy rolls of the foam soundproofing stuff for a decent price, which would allow you crank it up pretty loud. Just don''t pull a Great White and let your pyro get out of hand.

ooooh! never seen a Great White joke before. Beautifully tasteless. <applause>

Yeah, you''re right. Sorry I offended you.

Then you should look harder. There is one at the end of the replies to the COH beta impressions thread on the front page.

Pretty much WW2 history reading (love the new magazine Armchair General) and following my 13-year old daughters volleyball career. She is 6''2"" and colleges are already calling and she''s only a freshman.

No, I wasn''t offended, I was really being appreciative. I laughed my ass off. The hazards of text-only communication....
