besides gaming, what other fun activities do you do?

Pages

While playing video games is still my number #1 source of entertainment, every now and then I put down the controller and step away from the keyboard and mouse to do other things for entertainment. There are the occasional poker nights, weekly basketball games, and a brief stint with board games like Risk and such.

woops... work calls... I'll finish up my post later.

Board games, reading, some working out, some martial arts...Usual geek-with-a-life stuff.

I''m still at work to.

Constantly rebuilding my computer, yes for fun.
Gardening.
Drinking Beer.
Drinking Beer and barbequing.
Drinking Beer at the nudey bar.
Gambling trips.
Shooting guns.

Edit:
After work I thought of a couple more:

Furniture making as soon as I find some time.
Cooking. Which usally leads to drinking beer and barbequing.

Writing stories.
Reading.
Pen and paper roleplaying.
Miniatures wargaming.
Movies with friends.
Golf.
Bicycling (not so much lately, but I hope to get back into it this year).
Keeping my eyes open for the future Mrs. Farscry, since the previous future Mrs. Farscry has walked the plank, leaving this poor Bilge Cat alone with far too many barrels of pickled fish and salted pork in the hold.

Play the piano
Run

Admittedly maintaining my status as most frequent user of BFV interferes with these activities.

Besides gaming, I read a crapload of military history and go to Karaoke.

Surfing, reading, drinking, running. Golfing, too, albeit a horrid mockery of the game.

audio engineering/ home studio recording

Renaissance faire during the summer, tabletop RPGs, wargaming, reading, and soon, home maintenance.

Any particular period or type of military history, Veloxi? I''m fond of John Keegan''s stuff, and also 19th and early-mid 20th history, as well as ancients.

Photography, reading, martial arts, SCUBA, and a few other minor sorts of things.

Do you guys dig B.H. Liddell Hart? He wrote an awesome biography of Scipio Africanus that is just priceless.

Kid stuff, house stuff, bicycling. That''s about 25 hours a day when you throw in work and gaming.

Kids, martial arts, reading, tinkering with my car.

Alcohol and sex. In no particular order.

Softball, movies, drinking and smoking cigars, and also, eating BRAAAIIINNNNNNNSSSSSS.

Scuba Diving
Snowboarding
Running
Basketball
Women
Drinking
And other stuff too.

P&P gamers, Board game, Scuba Diving, martial arts, expensive gadgets and doohicky''s... mainly these days I sit around staring at my 2 month old daughter who is a source of endless entertainment :).

Soccer, baby!

Golf, squash, gardening, movies, writing...and of course kids.

Changing diapers.
Not sleeping.
Changing diapers.
Not sleeping.
Changing diapers.
Not sleeping.

I used to Geocache a lot, but that was before I started spending my time changing diapers, not sleeping, changing diapers, not sleeping...

Hmmm. Reading, painting, drawing. Occasionally hanging out with the wife and posting on forums.....

I once had a friend try to explain to me that one can over extend themselves, and should stick to just a few core hobbies and interests........Bwaaahahahahaha.

Gaming(obviously), Mountain Biking(single-track), Running(trail mostly), Swimming, Backpacking, Board Games, P & P rpg''s (been neglecting this one), tinkering on the computer, Sking(nordic, alpine, and now Telemark), Hiking(leisure, and also the occasional suicidal variety), Rock Climbing(Not much sport, mostly Trad), Mountaineering, watch Movies, paintball, big game hunting, bird hunting, Shooting in general, Fly fishing(This is my art related activity :p), Spin fishing, ice fishing, Building Scale models(WW2 armor so far), Worshiping my wife, watching sports, increasing my knowledge(thank god for PBS!), Enjoying some brews with the boys, recreational writing, talking politics(even thought I keep telling myself that I hate it), Reading, and terrorizing the cat.

So, uh, yeah, I have a knack of getting along with most people I meet.

What the crap is spin fishing?

You are familiar with spin dryers? Well, you take a really long extension cord, go to a stream, and...

There are other things besides gaming...?

Reading (currently re-reading ""A Game Of Universe""), TV (damn you, Fox execs!), home improvement (installed hardwood parquet this weekend), and walking up and down the beautiful beaches here for hours on end.

Let''s see:

Skiing
Weightlifting
Running (to the corner Starbucks anyway)
Laptop techno
Reading
Tennis
Cooking

That about covers it.

Golf, BBQ-ing and drinking, home improvement. Wow, I don''t do much but never have much time. Odd. Oh yeah, games take all that time lately.

My wife and 11 month old little girl, kung fu and grappling, reading, running, weightlifting, woodworking, guitar.

Still waiting to hear about spin fishing.
