Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy "green day" to all. Anyone having some green beer today or tonight?

No beer but one of my co-workers attacked me with a green sharpie pen since I wasn''t wearing green... does that count?

That and I''ll be spending some green on an oil change tonight.....

Yet another good excuse for a faction to get gloriously drunk, roll around on the pavement and chain each other to trees.

Only happens a few times a year around here.

St Patrick''s day
St David''s day
St George''s day
St Andrew''s day
Weekends in general

Still not sure what this obsession with the colour green is. Its not as if the Irish people are a queer shade of herb.

*Goes to mug a leprechaun.*

Oh, c''mon, am I really gonna be the first guy to use this smiley in this thread:

Happy St. Patty''s. My wife nixed the corned beef and cabbage for tonight (something about it being disgusting and giving me gas....whatever!). But at least I have a long ""business lunch"" to look forward to at the local Irish Pub By the time I get playing BFV tonight, you better watch out.

Ah, St. Patrick''s Day. Or as alcoholics call it, ""Wednesday""...

What is this thing you keep talking about -- ""beer""?

[edited spelling]

Well hubbinsd I hate to see someone drink alone! Happy St. Patty''s day to you too!

Oh, what the hell!

It''s five o''clock somewhere, right? Happy St. Patrick''s day all.

Ya-ta-ta-ta. Faith and b''gora!

I''ll have at least one Guinness tonight...

at least one...

Some fool decided to schedule a father/daughter sweetheart dance at my kids'' school for tonight. No getting out of that one, and I have a huge meeting the next day, starting at 9am at a client site 100 miles from my home. No beer for me this year.

What the hell is a father/daughter sweetheart dance? Is it even legal?

True story from some years ago ...

My sister and I were at bar on St.Pats enjoying beer when some drunken idiot decides to plop down and start talking to us.

We both have red hair and freckles and have been in enough situations to know what was coming next.

""This must be your favorite day in the world"" he slurred ""You Irish folk always have the best fun""

At which point my sister tried to explain politely that we were not european nor had our ancestors been for quite some time.

He wasn''t buying it, on and on he went about parades and the ""ole"" country until my sister finally snaps at him.

""Look it, on St.Pats day we both wear orange and go looking for fights""

I was like

the bar was like

the drunk was like

needless to say he slunk away quietly. I don''t think I was ever as proud of my sister as I was then. Talk about getting OWNED !

WAHEY my UT2K4 skills may well be affected by many, MANY beers I plan to drink when I get outta this office.(damn me being necessary support staff who is ""excepted"" from public holidays)

Hmmmm Ice Cold Guinness and the factories just about 30 minutes from my house too! and everyone here will be as usual completely sozzled form the ususual celebrations around here.

You''re working? Isn''t that like a national holidary or something? Get wit it, man!

I had green beer a few years ago on St. Paddy''s Day, and I sh*t green for the next two days. From that year forward I drank my beer au'' natural.

It''s a dance for dads and their young daughters. The girls are still in their ""Daddy is the greatest man on Earth"" stage, they like dressing up, and it is nice to do something special together. In another few years they will be plotting to murder me in my sleep, so best to make some good memories now & hopefully save myself.

Thinking of the day that my boys stop worshipping me makes me very sad.

Enjoy it while it lasts...that sounds better than beer to me.

But, as far as beer goes, GREEN beer? Puh-leez. Unless they can make Guinness green, which the laws of physics prohibit, I''ll take mine black.

That does sound like a good plan. Sorry for the irreverence.

NO BEER NO AND NO TV MAKE KEGBOY.... SOMETHING SOMETHING!

CAN''T wait to get home!

Damnit, I should be in Butte Montana today. I didn''t even see that it was St. patty''s day. Butte used to boast one of the largest Irish populations in the nation. And they still go by that claim every year. They do the parade at 8 AM, then it''s drunk drunk drunk for the rest of the day. Only seen a few heads bounce off pavement in the past. Nothing like a 5 block party.

I wish I had green to wear today. Correction, I do, but the upper 80s don''t make for good sweatshirt weather.

I''m looking forward to my 17 green beers tonight.

I know I will regret it tomorow morning when I am in my Christianity and Contemporary Culture class at 8 am. But nothing like hearing about religion still drunk!

That class sounds genuinely fascinating. What''s your major?

My major is Sociology, however it is a Senior required course at Berea College. However I do have like a minor in Religion. I think the most interesting religion class I''ve had is The Lonely Desert God, or Film and Theology. And my favorite class overall was Scuba Diving. Gotta love the PE class.

I am now wearing a sticker that says ""Kiss me I''m at least 16 ounces Irish.""

Mental note: In the future, don''t schedule dentist appointments on St. Patricks day.

Oh, no offense taken. Just explaining and lamenting the timing a bit.

I couldnt find any Samuel Jackson Beer...

was quite dissapointed.
