Lords of the Realms III

I am wondering whether any of you were planning on checking this game out. I did some digging around and found out some interesting facts about the game. I know that the PC's cup overfloweth with digital delectables this month, however, at $20 I might just pick this one up. It has a rather interesting take on an RTS genre that has gotten a bit stale as of late.

For those of you who have played LOTR or LOTR2, then you know that these games had a turn-based element, ala Civilization, for managing your empire and battles that were carried out in real-time like Warcraft. In the new game we still have these two separate layers of gameplay, but they are going to be carried out in real-time, simultaneously. So when you send your troops to engage an enemy troupe or seige a castle you can zoom to the battle and take control of the action. However, at any time you can pull back out to deal with management of your lands, diplomacy, etc. and the computer takes over for you. So this means that you can have several battles taking place at once while you are jumping back and forth trying to manage it all. This sounds really cool to me. Dunno, maybe I am crazy or maybe it just wont come together right, but it just sounds like neat way of doing a real-time strategy game. Also, it will ship with a castle editor so you can have custom castles in your fiefdom.

If anyone is interested I will probably post my impressions after a week or two of playing around with the game.

Sounds really cool. Almost like a reverse version of Medieval:Total War. That''s got turn based strategic empire mangement with real time battles. However it''s got no means to change between modes during battles (you''d probably lose quite quickly).
I really enjoyed lord of the realms which I only played recently:

I would be curious as to why one would need to change the tax levels on sheep in scotland during the battle of hastings? Let us know what you think anyway.

I''m interested in impressions. I have concerns about the price point and the fact that there won''t be a demo...

I want to hear your impressions, this game has definitely got me curious. No reviews have popped up yet on Gamerankings.

I''d like to try this myself, but I''ll wait for the reviews. I loved the previous two games.
